This is such a great article from @frank_seravalli. Must read. Great insight into the junior/college landscape and his dive into the issues in youth hockey are so spot on. The rise of private rinks and the catering to elite (but not really elite, because if everything elite…is anything elite?) hockey is driving the costs up and driving families out of our sport. Below are my two biggest takeaways from the part on youth hockey. Must read and great perspective everyone.

Conway Twitty had a batting average of .450 when he graduated from HS, & he was offered a contract with the Phillies. He worked for a few months for International Harvester before accepting the Phillies offer. However, he was drafted into the U.S. Army & served in the Far East, during which time he organized a group called the "Cimmarons" to entertain his fellow soldiers. The Phillies renewed their offer when he returned home, but Twitty had by now become more interested in pursuing a music career. "Hello Darling....."
