Today #CatchUpWithCancer campaign, Kelly's father Craig & @prof_price hand in the petition calling for a more urgent response to the cancer backlog. We need an urgent plan from Government + a cancer funding "super-boost" to prevent tens of thousands more cancer deaths.

Only 33.7% of cancer patients in the Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Berkshire Integrated Care Board area can access radiotherapy treatment. On World Cancer Day, I joined Radiotherapy UK to raise awareness of the need to improve access to deliver life-saving treatment.

I am supporting Radiotherapy UK with their #catchupwithcancer campaign. In June 2025, only 65.9% of cancer patients in South Shields were treated within 62 days compared to the operational standard of 85%. I will continue to monitor this and offer support where I can 🏥

Met with NHS Dentistry 🦷at Parliament to talk about how to get more patients seen on the NHS, and get more NHS dentists, and Radiotherapy UK about their crucial work supporting cancer patients, and backing their calls to tackle cancer waiting times in the NHS.

I joined Radiotherapy UK to support #catchupwithcancer and discuss waiting times. I also recently met with James Cook University Hospital to better understand our local situation and there is a very sharp focus and determination on pursuing continuous improvement.
