There are no rules in love and war and pandemics.. Well except, maybe: - stay safe, wear a mask - black lives matter - take care of yourself and if you can someone else - try to make the world a little bit better and where possible add just the right amount of sparkles

@thedrlambda @r0bnet I do not know the pattern name, but the rule of you can't both call methods on something and pass it as an argument is just great :)

@thedrlambda I'm currently reading your book 'Five lines of code' and so far I'm enjoying it. Right now I'm writing most of my code in Go and I'm wondering how much of the rules can be applied one-to-one (I know Go is no OO lang). Pretty sure that the rule with ifs at the

Okay real question. Whats the situation with endless series 5 releases and no series drops? We went from consistent series drops to “flexible series drops” to fairly even splits between new releases being series 5 and 4 to now no series drops and the vast majority of new cards being series 5?

@RandomSort @teachable @MightyNetworks Fair enough! I must say from the dozens of courses I've done in Teachable, only one was text-based. Most text-based courses I've done were hosted in either a Notion database, website, or a custom platform.

Normalize text-based courses. Why are online course creators so obsessed with talking head videos?

@Jensmoch @planetmoney this is a surprisingly subversive take on shrinkflation. Rather than reduce the amount, the recipe is changed so the same amount lasts shorter. Very sublte way to increase price without people noticing 🤔

This is how they get you! Samme mængde, men ny "opskrift" så den rækker 62% af den gamle. Prisen? Den er sjovt nok den samme som før.

@RandomSort Don't all of the big platforms support text lessons? I think @teachable, @MightyNetworks, even Udemy all support text? They might not have all the annotation tools you'd expect from a true text-based course platform, but you could choose to only publish text and no videos...

@rroudt like I can rattle off at least three platforms where I could sell a video course and that have large user bases, but I would not know where to start selling a text based course

@rroudt more platforms for video courses over text based courses may also be a factor

Looking for good podcasts in the CS/Math domain. Technical side, not business side. Don’t care as much about what the content is covering, just that the overall podcast is high quality. Any recommendations?

Music people of Twitter: what is the right language for "you need to tune your horribly out-of-tune guitar?" Like if you were going to say, "Your guitar is out of tune and needs to be X'd," what is X in that sentence?

@julienBisconti Truth. Hopefully the median developer uses libraries more than they write them 😅

@RandomSort Totally, I see more libraries and frameworks will use them. The rest should not really care about it too much at this point.

If you are learning #golang , don’t worry to much about generics. If you master the rest first, generics will be much easier to digest.

@HowlingMines Yea thats the ideology. U dont win everytime but u gotta put yourself in positions to win. U also need to know how to win when given the opportunity to do so, in card game terms, when u highroll dont give them a chance to breathe, close it out cleanly and dont get complacent

Talked to Lamby a bit about this concept at Creator Clash - it's also something I really agree with, and try to live by. You have to play well to maximize the times you get lucky. You have to try hard in life to make the most of when you don't have to.
Wesley Seek@LambySeriesGG

So i always say on stream that "i win more than most cos i know how to create luck". Its not actually a meme, essentially its a lifeskill. Put yourselves in positions to get lucky/create opportunity 😬

@VtuberEquinox Look, I have 11 cards (s4-5) to collection completion. I don't really go for them that much. All I want is not to miss on basically 1 or 2 special variants for some of s4-5 cards that I have, what is the strategy for optimizing the odds of getting those?

This graph is going to take some explaining, but it should teach fundamental truths about the #MarvelSnap economy- in both the old and new systems. The most important line I'll be focusing on is what I call the "gravity line": the very core of how SNAP is monetized.

@pragprog The first thing you do is run the tests. Then you change a single like of code and run the tests again. Then you remove your changes and start comsidering the change you want to contribute 😅
