I’m in love with this sentence: “Consistency looks like nothing is happening, until everything changes.”

Understanding cancellation, structured concurrency, shared state, and failure modes is what turns generated code into production software. Kotlin Coroutine Confidence helps you build that intuition. Async code doesn't have to mean callback pyramids, tangled threads, or mysterious race conditions. Learn how to write concurrent Kotlin that's readable, reliable, and maintainable with Kotlin Coroutine Confidence by Sam Cooper. Because the best concurrency is the kind you don't have to fight. #Kotlin #Coroutines #AndroidDev #Programming

@GergelyOrosz Trying to work out if there's a role we (Pragprog) could play in helping ease some of this. Our purpose has always been to make developers' lives better; this has to be one of the biggest things making many of their lives worse right now. (On both "sides" of this logjam)

AI, of course, is impacting the tech jobs market. Hiring managers say that: - Cover letters are pretty much all AI-written, and thus useless - Inbound applications are 10x, probably in-part thanks to automated resume submission tools (many using AI to automate more submissions)
The Pragmatic Engineer@Pragmatic_Eng

"Hiring managers are saying that highly-skilled talent (typically senior+ engineers) is not available to be recruited, at the same time as experienced, proven professionals find their applications ignored by employers. What seems paradoxical here is how both can be true." More in today's deepdive: newsletter.pragmaticengineer.com/p/tech-jobs-ma…

Complexity doesn't appear all at once. It sneaks in. (With augmented coding, it doesn't even sneak.) Joseph Koski's FunPark will help; model complexity instead of fighting it. Advanced Functional Programming with Elixir by @joekoski_wa link below #elixir #fp
