@KayNoire @AITA_online Both pronunciations of scone are common in the UK. My take is that scon is more common but I’ve met plenty of people who think scone (rhymes with cone) is more common. I still think they’re wrong. Posh and/or Scottish people seem to use the cone pronunciation more commonly.

@AITA_online Okay, but who pronounces scones the way OP does? Scon (rhymes with con)???? English is not my native tongue, so I need an expert opinion on this, but in all English-speaking countries I've visited/lived in so far, I've never heard it pronounced that way 🤔🤔🤔

Most people do know that, not everyone, not me, but most people and there’s no reason for donor conception to be different.

The decision making process for initiating sexual activity with a partner vs. trying for a baby are completely different. Most people are not trying to have a baby with someone they just started dating.

@TrueZomvee @Shenanigans5225 @WSJscience Many countries don't allow anonymous egg or sperm donors so a donor has already signed up ahead of donation to the health screening. If they don't want to agree to the terms then they don't donate.

@Shenanigans5225 @WSJscience What about the donor rights to doctor patient privilege? Or the fact that the donor doesn't want you in their life and by getting their ancestral and health information, you're essentially barging into their life.

@WSJscience The accepted term is "donor" not "biological father". Language and semantics are important.
