Last year: 25 rookies averaged over 20mpg.... Of those 25, 18 played over 60 games... Of those 18, 6 did it on teams who made play-in or playoffs....

People that wanted to rewrite Jokic's legacy are going to do so because they've had to suck it up and take it for three years. They will not be convinced otherwise. You're better off just rolling your eyes and keep it moving. He's accomplished REAL things. He's been incredible. He sucked in this series from start to finish outside of Game 5. You play who's in front of you. He bears burden for the failure of this year's team more than his defenders will want to believe and less than his haters will. You're never going to stop people from trying to tear down someone who has accomplished what he has if they still want to. If he hasn't earned their respect yet, they will never give it to him because it's too detrimental to their base sports opinions.

I can't believe anybody supports Malone. EFF Michael Malone and EFF everyone who loves him. Calvin Booth was a GOAT manager compared to POS Malone. The list of players that Booth brought in and Malone never played is long and let's not forget game 7 .Both Malone and Westbrook are effectively out of the league.

I still think you can defend the Michael Porter Jr.-Cameron Johnson trade (maybe not easily, but still). The Nuggets canning Michael Malone (instead of just Calvin Booth) and turning their noses up at Russell Westbrook looks terrible today.

Win shares have understandably fallen out of favor, but Rudy Gobert is 11th (yes, 11th) in career win shares per 48 minutes, behind only… Jokić, Jordan, Robinson, Wilt, Neil Johnston, Kareem, CP3, Magic, LeBron and Barkley.
Chris Baker@ChrisBakerNBA

Rudy Gobert is definitely a top-50 all time NBA player by the way. Pretty likely he is the best defender of the 21st century. Either him or Draymond. Pretty easy to make the case he is the most disrespected player of all time. Unbelievably elite impact.

It's kinda funny that Jokic is the most self aware humble superstar ever. Hes never claimed to be the best, constantly says others are more talented. He has been put on a pedestal at times but ill always appreciate how much hes achieved and will continue to against the odds

Jokic has been impeached and removed as the consensus Best Player In The World. Primaries for his successor begin Round 2.

It really is fascinating. I wanna hear everyone’s best theory on why some teams and players are officiated differently than others. It obviously happens. That’s unarguable at this point. And I think there may be reasonable explanations. So let’s hear ‘em.
HeroOfTheDay@Hero_OfThe_Day

Teams can’t touch Shai, but Gobert is allowed to hold onto Nikola Jokic as he drives, then grab him around the waist and high five him while he’s attempting a shot. Not a foul, apparently. Seems fair, @NBA!! 🔥🔥

@tomhaberstroh Good. It would not have been an issue, because those teams would not have tanked if they knew that a top pick was coming. The league would have been better for it.

Draft picks that would have been barred under the new draft reform proposal: James Harden (OKC), Al Horford (ATL), Dylan Harper (SAS), Deandre Ayton (PHX), Ben Simmons (PHI), Evan Mobley (CLE), Lonzo Ball (LAL), Andrew Wiggins (CLE), Amen/Ausar Thompson. And Markelle Fultz (PHI).

It’s beyond frustrating that the NBA cannot accept that giving good players to bad teams is healthy for the continued success of the league

@RealKevinBrewer @_utilitysports @tomhaberstroh Got you. I don’t think your ideas are bad, just need some fine tuning. I’m currently a Master’s student at ASU studying Sports Law and Contract Management so I was just interested to see more. This has been nice in comparison to majority of NBA Twitter lol

Interesting provision: "no team would be able to win three consecutive top-five picks" Would have prevented: Spurs (Wemby, Castle, Harper) Pistons (Cade, Ivey, Ausar, Holland) Cavs (Mobley, Garland, Okoro) Rockets (Green, Jabari, Amen, Reed)
Shams Charania@ShamsCharania

The NBA has disclosed to its 30 GMs a singular new anti-tanking reform that expands the draft lottery to 16 teams, flattens odds, and have a relegation zone where the bottom 3 teams are penalized with fewer lottery balls for the No. 1 pick. ESPN details: espn.com/nba/story/_/id…
