@plasma_node yea we had to attend a meeting about it for college and consent can only be revoked during, and the person must stop. but it doesn’t even make sense to revoke after because it already finished.

You can literally get paid around $430 to try home internet from this method if you follow the steps. But that’s just one online promo. This photo is from a storage unit I filled with in-store price errors and glitches I bought at 70-90% off, using the same system my members use every week. If you want to learn how to make an extra $500-$1,000/month consistently by just copying the plays I’m already running, join my private group here: whop.com/checkout/plan_…

@plasma_node How would you say this program opened your eyes to how Roblox manages safety on the platform? Also, do you think Roblox will continue this program again in the future?

🫡 It was a great experience participating as inaugural members of Roblox's Community Safety Council. I know Roblox gets a lot of flak but they took our feedback seriously and I really feel they are listening and working to find the right solutions.
ZAZC@ZAZC_x

I finish my 6-month term on the inaugural Roblox Community Safety Council. I was one of 20 members. Here are my thoughts: I went in with questions & concerns, especially as I own & operate @Roblox_RTC. I knew the community's frustration, grievances, and mistrust. The only thing I can say, and keep in mind, this is my view from interacting with them, in regards to safety: @Roblox does listen and care. Every conversation I had showed their value for realistic solutions. Every issue anybody had was met with conversation from councilmember and staff alike. Roblox recently stated that "no system is perfect", I agree. Everybody there had appraisals and criticisms for current or future systems, but the thing I appreciated was: we all came from perspective, as creators, players, and developers. This led to genuinely informed and pragmatic conversations, focusing on how to be proactive instead of reactive; Additionally, we all wanted one thing, Roblox to be safer. I believe this council has contributed to that goal. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity, I am honored to have served with the councilmembers I did, and lastly, privileged to see firsthand how Roblox Staff think about safety. I understand this post style is not usual for me; however, this is a genuine reflection on my part. If you have any questions, feel free to ask! I'll try to answer as best as I can :p shoutout to molegul (blender) and trelakor (figma) to make this image. first time seriously trying this

Saying this as non-offensively as possible bcz I have many YouTuber friends, but you can’t have it both ways. You either want the platform to be safe for kids, or you don’t, I don’t see any other way around it. Good to see they are locking it down more. Parents helpless I guess.

I hate what this community has become, honest to god. You are required to follow the doomer mob mentality narrative, and get called a bootlicker for even remotely trying to inject some nuance into the conversation. Here's a real bold hot take for you guys: Roblox is not dying.

@TheMicamaster @LegendOJ1_RBLX if ur posting actual condo games, u get banned. many condo games get banned fast, so think of it on a large scale. bad actors would have to spend thousands of dollars per month publishing these games and making no money in return

People don't realize that we can't have nice things when people abuse them. We either let bad actors make games freely or we put up walls to deter them from doing so, pretty simple. The Roblox community talks and yells a lot but rarely proposes meaningful solutions to the child safety issues on the platform. And it's not as straightforward as "hiring more mods". Roblox has not taken away anyone's ability to create games freely - you can still make games for personal enjoyment without any age verification. This was how I and many others started as a young dev, just making games for the fun of it, not caring about having any players at all. For those who have games that have players, the likelihood of a game with any CCU at all making at least $5 a month to cover the Roblox Plus costs is actually pretty high. Most people who have games that have any players will most likely be able to afford Roblox Plus just from the game's revenue alone. Not to mention Roblox Plus is actually a pretty good-looking subscription anyway. The perks seem actually meaningful unlike the current Premium situation. People should see it as just another cost of running a business, no different to the money that already goes towards advertising or hiring devs. It's also worth noting that anyone in the DevEx program already has their ID verified, and if people are worried about having to verify their ID but they want to make games that make them money, they must realize that ID verification is already a requirement to cash that revenue out. To be able to publish games to kids, I fully agree with the type of vetting process that Roblox is proposing. The sole reason that bad actors slip through the cracks so often right now is because of a lack of vetting. It's unfortunate that it has to come to this, but these requirements will undoubtedly deter many bad actors who publish inappropriate content to kids. The one thing about this update that needs some more thought is the lengthy process of getting your game approved for All Ages. Realistically, most Roblox devs are going to be making games that kids will play. To restrict games to ages 16+ by default and have devs wait potentially WEEKS to be accessible to their target audience is a pretty annoying process. I think there is room to streamline this process as it seems like the only thing I can argue with about the whole change. Overall, this change shouldn't be as controversial as it has become. It's the easiest way to stop new inappropriate material surfacing on the platform. Will people still slip through the cracks? Sure, it can't be perfect and some people are willing to take the risk. But it will deter a lot of people who would've otherwise been free to publish that type of content. There are definitely flaws, but I think people underestimate Roblox's willingness to change things based on backlash. We should work together to come up with alternatives and fixes to these flaws rather than storming with pitchforks. On a final note though, I think most of this anger comes from Roblox constantly changing stuff rather than coming up with one policy that they stick to. It's like they rush features out then add the clarification and fixes later when people are already mad. They need to think through things more thoroughly and be more engaged with the community to gather an opinion on changes before they go live. It's no secret in Roblox's history that people don't like sudden changes, and the spree of sudden changes recently has really riled people up.
RTC@Roblox_RTC

Roblox is changing the eligibility to upload games on the platform. To publish for all ages, you now need: - Roblox Plus; - ID Verification & Age Check; - 2-Step Verification enabled; - and have your account in "good standing". Roblox will additionally run games through trials to ensure engagement is legitimate and not from fake or bot accounts. To publish for Ages 16+ & Trusted Friends, you now need: - An account in "good standing"; - An age check; and - An account that is at least 2 days old. Any user on the platform, whether they meet any of the requirements, can still publish games for personal use. Roblox is stating they chose this requirements because "most creators already meet many of the criteria" and it will "make it more difficult for bad actors to bypass our moderation systems". Lastly, Roblox will make that transition by providing 100,000 users with a Free Roblox Plus subscription for 6 months. To be eligible, a user may have a minimum of 100 hours of total playtime on their game in the past month & no major violations of Roblox's Community Standards.

The backlash from the “Having Roblox+ publish games” makes no sense to me. $5/m to publish on a platform that offers hosting, data storage, and a massive global audience all while making the platform safer? Sign me up, now and forever. As a developer, if you can’t make that money back with a game then you may need to reconsider some things and assess why you’re actually mad at this situation. Back in the day you used to NEED Builders Club to publish more than 10 games, and OBC (20/month) to DevEx for that matter. And to my knowledge, with this change you’re still able to create and test games within groups without paying anything—just not publish publicly. Is there something I’m missing or misinformed on, because all of this seems rather performative?
