There's nothing you can develop on Visual Studio that you can't also develop on Visual Studio Code. Visual Studio is not better than Visual Studio Code in any field. Visual Studio does come prepackaged and Visual Studio Code is more pick your own. Visual Studio is all their application UI tech and Visual Studio Code is built on a web stack.

Visual Studio Code (the blue one) is a lightweight code editor. It’s fast, minimal, and built for flexibility. You open it, install a few extensions, and you’re writing code in seconds. It doesn’t try to do everything it lets you decide what features you need. The purple one, Microsoft Visual Studio, is a full-blown IDE (Integrated Development Environment). It comes with built-in compilers, debuggers, designers, testing tools, and deep integration for languages like C#, .NET, and enterprise-level applications. So what is the “purple one” actually used for? It’s what developers reach for when they’re building large, complex, production-grade software; think enterprise apps, desktop applications, game development (especially with Unity), and systems where debugging, profiling, and tight integration really matter. In simple terms: VS Code = quick, flexible, lightweight Visual Studio = heavy-duty, structured, all-in-one One is like a high-performance motorcycle. The other is a fully equipped workshop. Both are powerful but they’re built for completely different kinds of work.

@MaximumADHD Yeah I'm well aware about the technical vs actual of what I said. Most people see R15 and think "Weird Humanoid" just like when R6 is mentioned people think "Blocky retro character" They don't think about the rigs The term is skewed on social media. So I went along with it.

I think Roblox just needs to bite the bullet and remove R15 in favor of a more capable RInf or Skinned Mesh Body type. Most people hate R15 because the body is needlessly chopped up, whereas at least RInfo/Skinned keeps things blocky (but bendy)

I optimize my code for readability at a glance and general consistency. Stylua says: NAH, if your lines are too long or not short enough, we're gonna expand/flatten for no fucking reason and make the rest of your code look like shit to compensate for what we want.

@neyyynux @TarotLo Because R6 as a *rig* (not the avatar *style*) is obsolete and Roblox is trying to move games off them so they can remove it. There are exactly 0 reasons to be using R6 as a rig in 2026, it was deprecated 10+ years ago.
