The promises of God to Israel should also bring comfort to the Church, for they testify to the faithfulness of God. If the Lord keeps His covenant with Israel despite centuries of dispersion, persecution, and unbelief, then we can be assured that He will likewise fulfill every promise He has made to those who are in Christ. It is a great comfort to know that God is not slack concerning His Word. What He has spoken, He will surely bring to pass.
