I remember 10 years ago while going through the Army EOL course, which overall was pretty decent, the listing of "hate groups" on a slide with the source being the SPLC. I also remember asking the instructor who in the Army and how was an organization like that ever cleared as an authority on anything when it's basically a hate group in and of itself. I didn't get a good answer. Or really any answer.
