Seeing the (incredible) Black Snape memes all over the timeline, I can’t help but marvel at the amount of cultural cachet the Black community has lost in the last decade due to DEI. Think back 15-20 years. It was fucking cool to be Black. Black music and culture were dominant in America. Obama was a rockstar. There was also a certain amount of deference when it came to sensitive issues like iq and affirmative action. Everyone knew what was going on, but there was a sort of gentleman’s agreement that the power brokers wouldn’t take it too far, and people wouldn’t object too hard. Those who didn’t abide were called racist and ostracized. But then came the clown shit of the last decade. We all had to pretend a degenerate criminal who died of a drug overdose while resisting arrest was some kind of civil rights martyr. We had to pretend that it was entirely okay to riot in the streets for the epidemic of cop-on-Black violence in violation of all the (idiotic) rules we agreed to follow for the actual epidemic, which apparently were secondary considerations to leftist racial politics. We watched DEI shift into overdrive and all but eliminate top-tier college admissions and hiring for any insufficiently melanated young person, often with +2 SD on the person getting the role. To wit: We watched the poster children for racial preference, Ketanji Brown and Kamala Harris (neither of whom can string coherent thoughts together but nevertheless persisted themselves into some of the highest offices in the country), and the chattering classes clapping like seals and censoring anyone who dared point out the Empresses had no iq points. Clowning on Blacks just wasn’t something you could do in popular culture 15 years ago. It made you look insecure, racist - punching down. People wouldn’t laugh. They’d sneer. But now? Smoke alarm chirps, iq jokes, gangster larping, affirmative action - it’s all on the table. Leftists will still cry about it, but making fun of any of the less savory characteristics associated with being Black in America is being mainstreamed at a rate that was simply unthinkable 15-20 years ago, when Black culture and identity were ascendant. Because 15 years ago, Black culture was the counterculture. Blacks who rose to prominence were exceptional. But now it’s mainstream, manufactured and shoved down our throats even when it’s bad. Think Halle Berry vs Zendaya. You didn’t have to be told Halle Berry was a stunner, you just had to open your eyes. Nobody had to insist upon Halle Berry. Talk about overplaying your hand. It’s just not cool to be Black anymore. It’s cringe.

I feel like we've reached the end of WW2 movies. All of the interesting stories have been told. Now we get movies about black women sorting mail in England and the meteorologist that did the weather forecast for D-Day.
Met Office@metoffice

The first trailer for ‘Pressure’ is here, the film which tells the story of the most important weather forecast; the D-Day forecast. Andrew Scott stars as Group Captain James Stagg – the Met Office meteorologist tasked with delivering the weather forecast and helping shape D-Day's plans. In cinemas 9 September. #pressuremovie @StudiocanalUK

I pretty much study war hero’s for a living at this point. I’ve met General George multiple times. Ive talked with tons people under his command. This would be a huge mistake. @PeteHegseth

SCOOP: US government official tells me SecWar @SecWar Pete Hegseth @PeteHegseth is “seriously considering” the options for transferring a 3 or 4-star Marine general into the Army to possibly replace Gen. Randy George as the Army Chief of Staff. This would obviously be unprecedented, but it would send a very strong message given the fact that Gen. George was nominated to be Army Chief of Staff by Joe Biden in 2023. @SecArmy

Hey. Legal Eagle. As far as I can tell you're nothing but a social media troll who hides behind an anonymous X handle & lacks the intestinal fortitude to quote tweet so I don't get notified that you're over there talking shit. These 4 pics cover 22 total years of service that spanned 3 different MOSs as an enlisted soldier & 2 CMFs as a commissioned officer & included a security force deployment to 🇭🇹 (1997) & combat deployments to 🇮🇶 (2003-04) + 🇦🇫 (2013-14). The 15 years I spent on the line contributed to my experience, perspective & knowledge as an Army judge advocate during the final 7 years before retirement. I also have no idea if you ever even served - or if you did whether you were a JAG. I'm assuming from your comment while subtweeting me that you did both...though that is of course merely an assumption since you run an anonymous account. If so to both, though, you are absolutely the worst kind of military lawyer. It's shitbags like you who give the rest of the legal services a bad name. See, that 15 years on the line made me that much better of a military lawyer when I switched over because I had spent so long doing the work of my organizational clients before then becoming their legal advisor. I saw the world the way they did because I had walked for so long in their boots. Besides, you don't know me. You have no clue what led me to retire when I did in 2018 after "only" 7 years as an Army judge advocate. But that is the last occupation I held before separating, so that makes me a retired military lawyer. If you think that's "doing a lot of work," you can eat shit. That's exactly what I am...a retired military lawyer who ALSO just happens to have 15 years of experience on the line before switching to 27A. As you can tell, I've also been busy accumulating academic qualifications & experiences since I retired almost exactly 8 years ago now. 15 years as a combat soldier contributed to my experience as a military lawyer, just as 22 years of total military experience contributes to my experience as a law prof today. Now, I have a feeling this exchange isn't going to go all that well for you, at least not here @X. If that's accurate, just think of this as an opportunity for personal & even professional growth. And if you're ever interested carrying on this most enlightening exchange, I'm all for it. Show your face like I have mine, and maybe your opinion will carry a little more weight. Oh. And if you have something to say in future, I encourage you to muster even a modicum of courage to tag, reply, or QT me directly. If you don't want the people who DO know your identity thinking you're a sniveling, pathetic little coward, that would certainly be the most favorable course of action.

I received a copy of the crash report. Officials ruled the woman who ran the red light and hit me yesterday is 100% at fault. The woman was also cited for running the red light. Initially, I assumed she was a teenager given her behavior and appearance. However, she is a 21-year-old recent college graduate who works in healthcare and lives at home. In her free time, she likes to post videos on social media of her driving while entertaining followers. I hope she changes her behavior moving forward. Luckily, my daughter and I weren’t seriously injured, but that outcome could have very well been different. In my post yesterday, I brought up her heritage. People called me names, while others understood my position. Her background matters. Based on my research, her parents either immigrated here when she was a baby or just before she was born. Despite the fact her parents have been here for a long time, they still struggled to speak English while at the scene. They have also failed to adopt Southern manners. Neither she nor her parents displayed an ounce of concern over my daughter and me. In fact, they acted bothered with me — like it was my fault I was on the road when she decided to run the red light. Their sheer hubris was infuriating! Just like so many other immigrants who have come here over the past 30 years, this woman’s entire online persona is about her homeland. She posts in her homeland’s language more often than in English. She displays her homeland’s flag in her bios. Her friend group comprises other women from her homeland. For all intent and purposes, she does not identify as an American. A woman from an incompatible culture who hasn’t truly assimilated and wouldn’t even be here if it weren’t for the Hart-Celler Act has negatively impacted my Heritage American family due to her recklessness. She caused roughly $8K in damage to my car. My insurance company is in the process of determining whether it will be totaled. If they decide to total my car, her actions will result in my family losing a car 4 months before it’s paid off 2 years early. Any amount paid out for the car won’t cover the full cost of a new-to-us used car. The possibility of having a car payment again when we just paid off my husband’s car last fall and almost have mine paid off makes me physically ill. We have been working hard to be in a stronger financial position to buy land — the same land that now costs much more due to transplants and foreigners invading the South. If my car is totaled and we aren’t able to find a replacement with the insurance money, we may very well have to take out a loan to cover the difference. That outcome would result in us having much less money to put into savings for land. All of this is happening while we budget to cover another tuition increase at my daughter’s private Christian school — a school we send her to because the schools she is zoned for have been over-run with foreigners and kids from less than stellar families who have been pushed out of places like Antioch and East Nashville due to carpetbaggers. This is also happening at a time when the company my husband works for has not given any raises in three years and all but halted internal promotions while also relying on H-1B visas more and more. My husband, a white Marine Corps veteran in his mid-40s, returned to school this spring to improve his credentials so that he has more to offer than his H-1B visa counterparts — the same foreign counterparts who most likely have fake diplomas and trumped up resumes, given recent news stories. Combine all these factors and it’s easy to see why I would bring up her heritage. I don’t care if people call me names. I care that nothing in my life has improved with mass immigration. This entire situation is just one more example of how Heritage Americans have been hurt by mass immigration in ways not easily found on a Cato Institute spreadsheet.

@vetdb78 Oh, it is really hard each time, without a doubt. But I see it as a sacred duty to make sure that the detail is perfect. That the volley is perfect, the flag folding is perfect, everything. It is absolutely worth the the pain of it to make sure that they have a proper send off.

You know what my favorite part about being in the Army? It's the privilege to be on funeral details. I know not everyone likes them, many hate them. But I see it as an absolute privilege to be on any funeral detail, honoring whatever Veteran is being laid to rest, whether they did 3 years or 30 years.
