After seeing the movie, I can confidently say; no they do not.
Their arguments do not hold up at all to me and have only convinced me some Hollywood Film Critics at News Outlets today are just Hollywood Establishment reinforcement.

I should have further clarified I am more befuddled by the use of examples of later games to make the point; because using later entries instead of actual examples from the earlier titles to say it always existed is just weird.
