Coming into this industry from the outside (selling soccer shoes!) many years ago, I learned quickly that credibility is earned by listening. The gaming community is smart, passionate, and protective of what it loves. The first job was to understand the culture before trying to reshape it. I most certainly suffered from impostor syndrome in those those first few months. Asha brings deep expertise in AI and technology. The opportunity now is to pair that with the creative heartbeat of Xbox. Spending time with studio leaders, leaning on veterans like Matt Booty, and engaging directly with teams will matter enormously. AI will play a role in the future of gaming. The key is making sure it serves players and creators, not just efficiency metrics. This has removed Xbox's backbone to compete and instead stand on stage and praise getting a Final Fantasy game nearly 5 years later instead of asking the question why it missed its console debut in the first place

While Gamepass deserves all its praise its success has become the excuse to not go bolder to strengthen their fan base but simply find the quickest path to revenue instead

Xbox's multiplatform strategy has completely killed their drive to seek or create innovated content. While options is good for consumers, there's no need to make cutting edge games that would otherwise be exclusive to bring people on to Xbox consoles
