@Faj1791 Oh yeah, I think I maybe see what you mean; Vivek’s Hinduism (like Romney’s Mormonism in 2012) probably is more of a deterrent than the race thing, but it’s amplified intersectionally
I remember Nikki Haley’s Methodism coming under a lot of scrutiny

@RespectableCon Tbh i think indiana naturally face more skepticism for stuff a white candidate would not have

@Axerixing Back when the South opposed abortion bans for *reasons* (racism)
English

@RespectableCon Also the fact before roe that New England had far more stricter abortion laws than several southern states

@Punished_Jess Gosh you can really see where Junior got it from in this one 🤢

@MakeUSAVAT I won’t deny that the foreign aid skeptics (Paul, Good, Massie) and Christian nationalist types (Angle, Paxton) that came out of the Tea Party were bad
But Trump is a different breed, and the Tea Party is over-hated
English

@MakeUSAVAT A ton of Tea Party politicians stood in opposition to Trump, at least early on
Even Christine O’Donnell opposed him in 2016
Trump came more out of the birthers
English

@MakeUSAVAT I think this is semi-revisionist, particularly in that 90s establishment cons were not exactly different in that regard
Furthermore in actual substance the Tea Party and Trump stand for totally different things
English

@RespectableCon The TEA party with its populist undertones and being against immigrants was the precursor towards trump
English

@MakeUSAVAT Paul Ryan, Glenn Beck, and Ben Sasse were also associated with the movement
English

@MakeUSAVAT Counterpoint: Rubio, lBoozman, and Toomey were Tea Partiers
Anyway the Gadsden flag is more a marker that I prefer the Tea Party to MAGA or Dems than that I prefer them to establishment Rs
