#OTD 35 years ago, with the team off to a 12-24 start, the Toronto Blue Jays fired manager Jimy Williams and replaced him with Cito Gaston. Gaston led the Blue Jays to a 77-49 record the rest of the season and the Blue Jays won the division title. #BlueJays

Missed some of the early innings so I rewatched last night’s game and when Buck and Dan were talking about Jim Palmer and they showed the statues Baltimore has of iconic players I was absolutely seething about our stupid Ted Rogers one. Truly a middle finger to fans.

I missed this important piece of Blue Jays trivia yesterday. 😜 April 9, 1978 Willie Upshaw and left-hander Tom Underwood made their Blue Jays’ debut on the same date. This made them the first two players to suit up for the club with a last name that started with “U”.
