i have not. the game never looked bad to me, but it just never looked particularly interesting. it looked to me sorta just like a mix of other popular arena FPS games and didnt appear to make the experience more fresh. but by the time arc raiders came out, embark had it figured out. easily the most underrated game devs out there right now

@halfway2sane @ShiinaBR @HappyPower all good things must come to an end. it sucks seeing epic try to cling onto fortnites success for as long as possible while the game is clearly falling apart.

@RhylekHimself @ShiinaBR @HappyPower They do everything possible to F up user experience ie. winterfest changes, UI changes, battle pass progression/locking rewards behind specific modes. You can have a good game but make the user experience so 💩 that people will just go play a different good game.

Epic Games will have a company meeting tomorrow to discuss the roadmap for Fortnite and Epic Tim Sweeney said Fortnite now needs fresh seasons, gameplay, story, and live events. The next generation of Epic Games is planned to start at the end of the year with "huge launch plans"

i think you post the video you are working on now, then pivot to something else afterwards. the future of fortnite has never been more uncertain. if epic's greed is going to jeopardize the storyline AND the jobs of the people who create it, dont waste your time by supporting it with content.

i dislike the in-fighting between marathon players and arc players. both games can properly coexist and both fill different niches. however both games seem to not be in a great spot right now. we just need to be encouraging both dev teams to listen to the players and keep the games fresh.

"I shot him first!" No you didn't. The server is just too fucking slow. You'll spend $1000 on a 240Hz monitor just to play on servers slower than a government worker. 📡 SERVER TICK RATES 128 Hz — Valorant 64 Hz — CS2 64 Hz — Overwatch 64 Hz — R6 Siege 60 Hz — COD 60 Hz — Battlefield 6 60 Hz — PUBG 60 Hz — Marvel Rivals 60 Hz — The Finals 30 Hz — Fortnite 20 Hz — Apex Legends 20 Hz — Call of Duty: Warzone In Apex and Warzone, the server updates only once every 50 milliseconds. Even if you're playing on a $2,000 rig with a 1ms monitor, your bullets will still be bottlenecked by servers that feel like they're from 2007. If you die while already behind cover, it’s not magic. It’s the server the devs didn't want to spend more money on.

its not just about the game. its about the players. aside from the game getting steadily worse over the years, the player base has grown up. that will happen when any game has been out for so long. no new season or new content is going to ACTUALLY bring back old players. people know what to expect from fortnite, so theyre not gonna bother. people dont care about battle royale games anymore. its played out, and boring now. the collabs are not interesting anymore, and the employees that keep the game alive are getting fired.

They honestly need to reboot the game and go back to what made the game great. Fresh, fun, and colorful maps, no collabs, engaging story with fun events through the seasons, unique loot pool with weekly updates, revamped matchmaking, remove bots, simple OG (non turbo) building. People don't want a million side modes, focus on BR (it's what put Fortnite on the map in the first place) and create modes like LTM's that are focused around the BR itself again. The last 3 years have felt like a complete tonal shift for the game with it's graphics and mechanics, shoot even the map designs and they need to get back to the feel of Chapters 1-4. The last season of Chapter 6 has been the first time I legit stopped caring and nothing seems to have changed in chapter 7. Same map layout, same graphics and dull colors, basic weapons, same vehicles, boat loads of collabs. Chapter 8 NEEDS to be a fresh start for the game's sake at this point.

Epic Games says Fortnite didn't perform as well in 2025 as expected, and they're shutting down Rocket Racing, Festival Battle Stage, and Ballistic modes in Fortnite

epic games doesnt need to try and compete with GTA 6. they already lost. when GTA 6 drops, the entire internet is going to be talking about GTA exclusively for at LEAST 4-6 months straight before anyone even thinks about playing other games. fortnite has already been on the backburner for many many people for years now, and GTA 6 is going to give them another reason to not touch fortnite. obviously every game is going to be affected by the GTA 6 launch, but fortnite especially, and theyre in too dire of a place to ever even consider competing with GTA 6.

I really hope people realise this is NOTHING compared to how Fortnite is going to struggle when Rockstar eventually release GTA 6. It will be THE biggest launch in gaming history and every other game will experience MAJOR losses when it first comes out. Tim Sweeney is gonna have to pull some SERIOUS strings if he wants Epic and Fortnite to survive the first few months of GTA 6 releasing.

the problem is, nobody cares. the "fresh content" is just reskinned weapons, new maps, and new collabs. everyone has been seeing that already for nearly 9 years now. everyone knows what to expect from fortnite at this point, and nearly nothing will bring back players who have previously quit. epic can try to continue recycling content while firing their workers, but its over.

Tim Sweeney has stated this in terms of the future for Fortnite: What we now need to do is clear: build awesome Fortnite experiences with fresh seasonal content, gameplay, story, and live events; accelerate developer tools with greater stability and capability as we evolve from Unreal Engine 5 and UEFN to Unreal Engine 6. And we'll be kicking off the next generation of Epic with huge launch plans towards the end of the year.

theyre at a point where they are firing some of their most important people who have been there for years. clearly nobody is safe at epic, and i hope all the employees are able to find work elsewhere. fortnite is totally unsustainable and it will never be back at the level it once was

Epic games is becoming a shell of what it used to be. I will no longer be supporting what I used to love. They clearly will do ANYTHING except for recognizing the problem with this whole system. Raise vbuck prices on consumers, another round of layoffs, and everything else. Bye

guess who got laid off today! 🫠 i am genuinely so confused and bewildered like, i spent the past week debugging the rivalry system while recovering from pneumonia and just in the past few days i’ve had multiple directors tell me how much they appreciate everything i do

its not jokes, its the reality. there is no situation where fortnite loses retention and players, employees get fired, and the game gets better. the game has been on a downslope for years, and its getting to a critical point right now. the loss of so many good employees is only going to hurt the future of the game. fortnite can never again be at the level it once was, and we are now witnessing the slow destruction. epic will continuously underperform and underdeliver while increasing the cost of vbucks until the game is so unsustainable that nobody plays it anymore.

from what it seems like to me, evan was byfar one of the most important employees at epic. im not going to assume that a single employee being fired is going to cause the downfall of the game, but he did SO much work for epic that he CANNOT be replaced. other epic employees should take note of this, because if they fired evan of all people, literally nobody is safe.

This one hurts man. You're talking about one of the most valuable people inside of the company in terms of talent/experience and an overall treasure of a person to talk to. Sending prayers to you and your Friends who were affected by the layoffs brother. You will be missed.

Key person risk is the potential for severe financial or operational disruption if a critical individual, such as a specialized employee, suddenly terminated or cannot perform their duties. It occurs when vital knowledge, relationships, or skills are concentrated in one person, threatening business continuity. Evan was a “key person”
