I seen his comments on this show, and it really irked me. Leo Varadkar is/was a welfare recipient - just the same as every other politician in the country. He doesn't/didn't fund, or subsidise, anything; he is funded, and subsidised, by the Irish taxpaying private market. His attempt to create an 'us v them' narrative between rural and urban Irish people - and to essentially 'other' farmers - is a disgrace. The only us v them, is us normal, everyday working people, and establishment figures like him who make incompetent decision after incompetent decision, to the detriment of us all, free from accountability. That's what needs to change.

I'm glad this is happening. It's about time the Irish people got a good look at who they gardaí really are. For too long the Irish population has believed a childish fantasy that our police force is somehow different to the thugs in other countries that you see beating down protesters, protecting violent thugs, and arresting citizens for mean words. For 2 years during Covid they enacted the longest lockdowns in the developed world, stripping the population of their most fundamental rights without a moment's hesitation and not even a whisper of discontent amoung the rank and file. They made countless Irish men and women second class citizens in their own country by enforcing vaccine passports. They brought out the riot squad and batton charged young people in Dublin city for the crime of enjoying an "Outdoor Summer" because Tony Holohan sent out a tweet expressing his dissatisfaction with seeing young people outside. They beat, abused and pepper sprayed protesters in multiple towns amd villages across the country who don't want asylum scammers from the third world thrown totally unvetted into their local areas where their children live. Had the hate speech laws passed I guarantee you they would right now be happily acting just like the British police, knocking on doors, and dragging people from their homes because they had the stones to say they don't want to be replaced in their own country. The police aren't your friend and they never will be. They don't "Work for us" we don't "Pay their wages" and they don't care about "The constitution". These are all fairytales, we are told as children so we believe the myth that we are "Governed by consent" and thus allow those is power to continue screw us over every which way. The police are the enforcement arm of the regime and their primary task is to protect the status quo and if you become a threat to the status quo then their job is to shut you down. That's not to say some or even most of them aren't good people in their everyday lives, I know for a fact they are. But ask any Gardaí friends you have "How extreme would an order have to be for them to say no and risk their paycheck?" You will be stunned by what they are willing to do.
