I’m about 4 hours into Crimson Desert and I’m not sure I have anything to say that hasn’t already been said. I’m incredibly bored but I can tell it could be really interesting once I’ve gained more powers. Slow beginning, weird movement, and obtuse controls. Not an ideal start.

@maximilian_ It does look "better"?... but it completely changes the art style in many of the examples especially RE9... Grace goes from mousey nervous girl into supermodel AI porn ad... its all about creators intent and always should be... this slapping a filter over something.

@G27Status I am still as enamored but skeptical as I've been since day 1. The gameplay looks fun, still a coinflip if im going time try it on Pro or my PC but as someone that needs a good narrative in a game that keep me going that is one area that they have shown little to nothing.

@MichaelPHuber I worked in restaurants about 10 years ago and and the level of disrespect from the average customer is disgusting. I can only imagine how bad it is now with the devolution of humanity, entitlement, and social media.

@vicious696 I think the next steam machine will be a good litmus test on whether or not people want this or not but between the two of them it definitely played a factor into Playstations new stance on PC ports.

Project Helix a Console or PC? it’s both hardware is being designed to play your Xbox console games and your PC games past, present and future compatibility IMO that is all that should matter

@vicious696 Its a gamble and I respect studios with new ideas taking risks if they truly believe in what they are making but when the corpos make their studios churn out the "next big thing" while knowing if it doesn't hit its gonna cost countless jobs it simply isn't right.

@vicious696 Chasing trends is a risky buisness and it's wasted so much of this industries time this generation. Swimming in 7s games can be successful over time in the single-player space but in live service (especially free to play) being anything short of expectation is a death sentence .

Highguard wasn't for me and we can debate the whats and the whys for it ending but a high production game and studio closing shop after 45 days IS NOT GOOD Something needs to change and that starts with leadership listening to what players want vs listening to what shareholders want

@vicious696 I think too big a percentage of single player games on PC still get pirated unfortunately. I do think that a majority of PC players who pirate games were not going to buy it in the first place but they see the numbers and seem to think it is not worth their time and effort.

heard about PlayStation potentially scaling back on PC last summer and IMO it’s a mistake I get they still value selling hardware but you’re putting live service on PC (and Xbox) for a reason and the same applies to single player too Prob make a vid going into detail this weekend

@geoffkeighley 100% agree. I think it was definitely a time for a change but I am very skeptical about the new leadership. Xbox has already gone mostly 3rd party but I can see them shutting down and selling off most of their IPs/studios in the near future if things don't turn around fast.

What I hope isn’t lost in today’s news about Xbox is Phil Spencer’s incredible career in gaming. Phil is a passionate competitor and a big gamer. You may not have always agreed with the calls, but this industry is better thanks to his involvement.

@longislandviper They took a risk letting them work on a live service game instead of keeping them in their lane as a Remake/Remaster studio and live service bit them in the ass again. I just don't get how it results in studio closure instead of just moving them to a new project tho.
