So let me get this straight. Since 1776, every immigrant community has assimilated to American cultural norms, but that does not apply to Muslims? Does not seem moral, correct or American to me. In fact, pretty much every immigrant community historically has sought to assimilate as soon as possible. That is a big part of what has made America great--the melting pot. And renewable? Indefinitely. Translation: permanent legal underclass with voting power just one future Congress away from full citizenship. Salazar can screech “NO PATH TO CITIZENSHIP!” until her vocal cords bleed, but psychology 101 tells you exactly what this is: classic gaslighting.
