I find this viewpoint on Polanski baffling. From my view, I mostly see Polanski attacking other politicians in vitriolic terms, constantly. Fair enough, that’s politics, but pretending he has this pure message of love just seems out of touch with reality.

Zack Polanski tends to stand out because he is the only politician in quite a few years that has gone all in on, "let's be good people." We are so used to politicians rocking up and screaming, "I'm a right cunt. Watch me be nasty. You can be nasty cunt, too."

Welsh Lib Dems say the NHS will be at the heart of their bid to win May's Senedd election. At a pre-conference rally on Friday, the leader, Jane Dodds, arrived in an ambulance to highlight the issue. Read more here: itv.com/news/wales/202…

NEW: The Lib Dems are demanding MPs get a vote on allowing the US to use UK air bases. Leader Ed Davey says: "No matter how the Prime Minister tries to redefine offensive as defensive, this is a slippery slope. He must not let Trump drag Britain into another prolonged war in the Middle East. "Starmer must come to Parliament tomorrow, set out the legal case in full, and give MPs a vote. "We have a duty to defend our brave British troops and citizens in the region, and that must be the focus of any operations. The UK must not be complicit in illegal military action."

Fresh off a Labour councillor defecting to us in North Wales, two Swansea councillors have now joined the Welsh Liberal Democrats. The momentum is building right across Wales, with the Senedd elections in May fast approaching, it’s clear the Welsh Lib Dems are on the up. 🔶🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

The enthusiasm was not dampened by the wet weather! I was delighted that Helen Morgan MP, and Alex Wagner, Deputy Leader of Shropshire Council and other supporters helped me kick off my campaign today. #southshropshire #shropshire #bridgnorth #LibDems

Polanski is an appalling snob and, frankly, something of a physical and emotional coward. There are plenty of jobs in this country that involve difficult, awkward or downright unpleasant tasks, and they’re not confined to the working classes. Doctors perform gruesome operations and deeply embarrassing examinations, but they do it because it saves lives. Nurses look after people at their most vulnerable, and yes, that can be awkward, but it’s essential, dignified work. That’s why his whole ‘I don’t want to wipe someone’s bum’ line is so offensive. Parents do this for their children. Carers do it for disabled and elderly people. Most British people - left, right, whatever - simply get on with it, because they understand that responsibility and compassion aren’t beneath them. Polanski seems to think the role of immigrants is to act as a kind of helot underclass to handle the tasks he considers beneath him. He never stops to consider what this attitude says about him, or what it means for the country. It’s a revolting mindset.

Very much enjoying the hot takes that Labour should stand down in seats to allow the Greens to take on Reform Whereas the Lib Dems just get on and beat Reform, while the Greens don’t even bother to show up.
