For almost three years now, active members of the Sudanese community across Canada have met with several Members of Parliament to raise urgent concerns about the worsening situation in Sudan and the ongoing delays in the family reunification process.
Thanks to this strong community engagement, through calls, meetings, and continued advocacy, Canadas immigration pathways for Sudanese will be a topic of conversation at this morning’s Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration (CIMM), presenting between 11am – 12PM EST.
This is a direct result of community persistence and advocacy. It’s an important opportunity for all of us to tune in, share widely, and follow up with our MPs afterward.
Our collective efforts brought us here, and sustained engagement will ensure there is action and accountability.
Please join us in listening today.
