The shaving of women's heads at the Liberation of Europe took place between 1944-1945. In France alone, around 20,000 women were publicly shorn during the "purge," before legal institutions were restored. These acts usually took place in front of crowds and were accompanied by insults, beatings, forced parades.. These women were accused of what was called "horizontal collaboration", a term used to describe intimate relationships with German soldiers. This, however, collapses into very different realities. It included consensual relationships, transactional exchanges for food or protection, relationships formed under severe economic pressure and sexual violence. In many cases, so-called consent was deeply constrained by hunger, fear and power imbalance. The punishment was gendered, women were targeted through their bodies and hair was a central marker of
femininity. Shaving it stripped women of gender identity and transformed their bodies into public symbols of disgrace. What was being punished was not political collaboration, but the female body perceived as having betrayed the nation through sexuality. The shaving itself constituted a form of sexual violence. It often included being undressed, touched and exposed to a crowd. Most of these punishments were carried out without trials. Many women were never allowed to defend themselves and were punished on the basis of rumor or vengeance. The targets were often single mothers or working-class women, who lacked protection. Public shaving also served a broader social function. It allowed communities to channel anger after years of occupation, while diverting attention from male collaboration. It helped reassert a patriarchal moral order and symbolically purify the nation by punishing vulnerable bodies. Today, there is scholarly consensus that the shaving of women was a violation of human dignity. It was a punishment that targeted women almost exclusively, ignoring the realities of survival under occupation. As historian Fabrice Virgili has argued, the shaving did not truly punish collaboration; it punished the transgression of female sexual norms in a moment when society sought to restore control.

What’s one of the darkest ways history controlled women’s voices?

@RonniNicole1 just as Trans Nonsense is on the wane, we now have this meriting a court case "offender was found to have multiple images depicting a child’s face superimposed onto an adult’s body"
this is as silly as scottish legal system prosecuting comedian for comparing his dog to the Nazis.
English

"Confusion as Scots trans sex offender referred to as woman in court thanks to Nicola Sturgeon's gender ideology
Amelia Connolly, Scottish independence campaigner, convicted of creating indecent images of children using AI, referred to as woman in court despite being biological man"

@KnownHeretic what you say about how girls are programmed is bang on.
however, boys in silly fantasy about being girls, altho symptomatic of any number of deeper problems is, in & of itself, harmless. the problem arises when they feel entitled to go crucial step further - invade women's space.

@TheCanaryUK truly great video apart from the ultimately silly and clumsy "wealth tax" idea..

@Robbie_Reasons there is, i think, a significant difference between being fed dead pigs by the government in a place that you are obliged to be in, and supermarkets not providing you the information about exactly how the animal you want to eat has been killed. take that up with the supermarket..

@SCreamchease @wokal_distance Feminism: A movement comprised of women who attribute personal and societal shortcomings to male behavior, avoiding personal accountability, and whose participation is seen as counterproductive to genuine independence and social progress.

Germaine Greer appeared on a talk show in 1979, seen in this segment from the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) archives. In her response, she argues that we must “work towards a better world with faith and steadfastness.” Greer critiques what she sees as our “consumer mentality” about social change.
- - - - - - - - - -
“The alternative could be utter chaos and destruction. I can’t see it. I don’t see it in my lifetime. I don’t think that I own the revolution, or you do, or even our children. I think what we’ve got to do is work towards a better world with faith and steadfastness, and not say, after five years, ‘Well, it hasn’t worked and I’m not going on. Where’s the new world, please? I signed up for it five years ago and it’s not here.’ That’s consumer mentality, and I’m afraid most people have got it. When people are asking me for the answer, it’s still consumer mentality. It’s a strange thing about a society based on nonconformist religion that it goes about demanding heaven on earth all the time: ‘Tell us what you want us to do; we would see a sign.’ I’m European; I won’t do that. I live in cynicism as my intellectual medium—in that I swim.”
- Germaine Greer, 1979

@Colt_nK @wokal_distance real feminism attributes bad male behaviour, not so much to men, as to the current old structure and conventions of society, which disadvantages both men and women.
feminism is about empowering women to step away from that and to create something better for benefit of everyone..
English

@Colt_nK @wokal_distance i concede, the same as there are zionists who call themselves "jews", there are also, especially today - too many weak and inadequate women looking for that kind of excuse to avoid responsibility for sorting out their own lives.
however, that is not consistent with real feminism.
English

@ShirionOrg are you going to condone the Holocaust - because in that desperate situation - some jews took part in that atrocity ??
English

@Lunarprime1996 @wokal_distance i insist that everyone inc "feminists" clearly define their own terms and substantiate their claims..
English

@SCreamchease @wokal_distance The point is to show that it is a feminist who believes in the most negative thing about the picture based on resentment. It is not silly to take a narrow view when the feminists themselves take the narrow view. Why don't you tell the feminist not to take a narrow view?
English

@Lunarprime1996 @wokal_distance please substantiate your point.. provide some evidence.. a quote ??
English

@dfhsdhs79765 @wokal_distance you are talking mindless gibberish..
there are no end of feminists in very happy relationships with men..
altho i can't imagine any woman in her right mind would come near you..
muting you now..
English

@SCreamchease @wokal_distance Feminists are leftists, not people
And anyone who claims to be a feminist is a man hating terrorist
English

@dfhsdhs79765 @wokal_distance i think that it is the group that you imagine that does not exist..
if you take a step out of your sick fantasy world - you will find no end of people who call themselves "feminists" who are nothing like your crazy claim..
English

@Lunarprime1996 @wokal_distance saying what - what would you like to quote from this one twitterer to try to make your point ?
like i say - it is silly too take too narrow a view of what any term can be about..
English

@SCreamchease @wokal_distance He doesn't have to take a narrow view when feminists themselves are saying it. What a miserable movement filled with resentful people

English

@dfhsdhs79765 @wokal_distance again - maybe that is more of a description rather than a very good definition..
but that will do..
so does it follow then that anyone who calls themselves a "feminist" who is NOT a terrorist and has NO interest at all in mass genocide of males - is thus not really a "feminist" ?
English

@SCreamchease @wokal_distance Fine, my definition, as informed by feminism
Feminism: A female supremacy terrorist group who is devoted to the mass genocide of all males
English

@BenGrahamUK we can forget about bayoneting british soldiers in their hospital beds. but the industrial scale sexual exploitation of schoolgirls and killing of dolphins and whales is still going on - which maybe begs the question of whether fetish for following the rules is entirely healthy..

Japan is one of the cleanest countries in the world.

But because of culture.
Personal responsibility. Social discipline. Respect for shared spaces.
Meanwhile in Britain, we’ve normalised decline.
At some point, we need to ask why.

@dfhsdhs79765 @wokal_distance i am still waiting for you to meaningfully define your term.. you are welcome to refer to a dictionary if that is of any help to you..
English

@SCreamchease @wokal_distance Feminists are leftists, that means they are a hive mind, if one feminist says something, they all believe it
