Anyone else have a new @JohnDeere HSD made by Norwood sales and think they are junk compared to last years 2680H? Frame looks way heavier but this thing flexes and bounces at anything over 3” depth. Dirt buildup and plugging is a big issue too. Would not recommend.

Those of you that have bins, do you account for phantom yield loss in your calculations of justifying a bin? Or only dryer and storage as the only benefits to having a bin system. Thank you!

@MdMcLean1 Ran 2660 and 2680 last fall. We liked the 2680 better for heavy residue. Sizes and Buries it better than the 2660.

Anyone switch from 15” row beans to 20” rows and regret it?

@Nate0500 @bprofit09 Very hybrid specific, short varieties in beans will handle 120k. But taller ones it’s just too much. Corn @36k in 30’s would tip back 1”. 40k in 20’s and no tip back, but it’s more determinate hybrid.

@bprofit09 @SWKellogg I'm right there with Shane. I agree with both pops but I've also been burnt with both. If you can get beans up and no frost 100k has been best roi but I'm back up to 115-120 on good dirt early for a little more insur. Corn in good dirt 36-38. We ydrop. Tram line as well

@Noggle_Farms Saw a spinner rig spreading dry fert this morning. I guess if it’s a sustained 40 mph it’s an even spread right? 😂

Soooo spreading lime in 40 mph winds is a thing people do? Yeah I’ll think I’d wait. Trying to get it on the ground not halfway across the county.

@Cetter15 Stay positive, you can’t change it anyway. I think it was 2011 we didn’t plant anything until June 1st. Corn came out of the ground in 3 days and never slowed up (av 230+) 2019 planted 2500 ac beans last week of June (av 63) those rains will be nice in July/aug

Well, based off today and what’s yet to come I have to assume we won’t have a seed in the ground until the second half of May. Yesterday, I realized that they moved the final plant date for corn to June 5th, if you’re wondering where my mind has been. #NWOhio #plant24
