Montana congressional candidate Sam Forstag, a smokejumper running for office, says the fire he's trying to put out is "that working people in this country cannot afford the basics." "Right now, the biggest fires that people are dealing with back home in Montana, where I live is, well, nobody can afford housing, and we got cities where housing has doubled or tripled in cost, if not more in the last 5 or 10 years in western Montana. And our wages have not kept up," he says.

Working Montanans want our leaders focused on fixing housing, healthcare, and childcare — not another war of choice. Too many of our current representatives - on both sides - are too willing to rubber stamp wars while they cut the VA and rural healthcare.
