Sold first company for $40M at 23. Now run Vantum Capital—investing in bankruptcies, broken credit, and distressed situations.

I sold my online gambling company for $40M in 2021. I was 23 when I signed the deal. That’s a fun story I’ll tell soon. I made millions but got bored quick. Started another company. A lot of my friends and business colleagues say I should be more active on X. I’ve been quietly listening behind the door for years. Ha, why not. I’ll give it a go. More to come. Some photos of my first office in Chicago off Wells. Loved this place.

@EconTalker This is very true. I have family in the suburbs. 29 years old. Married. Live in a 2,500 sq ft house for $330,000. I never hear them complaining about the cost of living.

In the conversation about the dissatisfaction of young people with capitalism, need to factor in the low marriage rate. Singles like cities not suburbs; most cities stifle housing expansion. So home ownership rates are low and young people (in cities) pay high rents.

Might buy the credit off a Chinese lender in litigation that awards me 150-250 acres in the Catskills — half has septic, rest is zoned residential. 2.5 hours from NYC. Would build luxury homes on 3 acre lots, not tiny-home junk. Pics of inspiration below. DM’s open for GC’s 🏗️

@drewfallon12 Further…no family is almost like being overcapitalized — all the time in the world to make it work. The biggest dogs I know have a wife, five kids, and three homes. And they don’t have them because they’re a dog. They’re a dog because they have them.

@drewfallon12 I used to think this - that it’s only about hours in a day. Completely changed my mind. I’d take my chances against someone with nothing over someone providing for three kids and a spouse — any day. No family create false runway. You can’t be inefficient with mouths to feed.

When normies (that's what I call people who aren't into AI yet) ask me why AI is such a big deal, I often give them this quote form @natfriedman: "Imagine we discovered a new continent with 100 billion people on it, and they're all willing to work for free" It's astounding how much more productive I've become by using ChatGPT/Claude. I feel like I have 10 free, insanely hardworking, and incredibly smart and detail oriented employees.

@TristanSnell A tariff is like a $20 cover at a bar It’s not a tax you pay to the government The drinks inside cost the same It’s a fee imposed to regulate who gets in and how they behave A tariff is not a tax

A tariff is a TAX. The company pays it — then passes along the cost as a price increase to YOU. So Donald Trump is raising YOUR taxes 25% — in January.

America screamed, and it was deafening. – Presidency – Popular vote – Senate majority – House majority – State governor majority – State legislature majority America, after all it’s endured, is exactly where it’s meant to be. Because destiny arrives right on time.

almost 10 years in startups and 1 thing has always held true: do not work with ppl who sell you their network ppl who claim to be “plugged” or say they will be valuable to your biz based on not what they bring to the table, but who they know are vultures 100% of the time

@realEstateTrent It’s unfortunate this has become more common than uncommon. 25 years ago, we were taught to admire those who had achieved more, to see their success as a source of inspiration. Success was something to strive for, not something to be envious of and resent.

One of the most bizarre human tendencies is the animosity towards those more successful. Many people are simply wired to root against others, and seeing them fail makes them feel great. Coming across someone successful should be inspiring. Tough life otherwise.

I'm looking to do an order of 1000 units of a "branded" 16oz stainless steel shaker bottle or tumbler for my newest brand. Who should I be working with on this? Looking to move fast on this.

For ~10 years, I’ve had friends, colleagues, investors - all ask me to refrain from publicly supporting Donald Trump. It’s wonderful to see large democratic-donating businessman of 2012 change their tone. The charade is over. God Bless #45 and God Bless America! 🇺🇸 🇺🇸 🇺🇸

One of my money rules: don’t pay more than $50 for sunglasses. I lose or break em fast and like having many pairs stashed away in convenient places (car, gym bag, etc). What are your fav sub $50 sunglasses? Still can’t find perfect quality lenses. Good news is that stylish ones are plentiful.
