All my mama cared about was that I was reading 😂

Another great notes session with @GareRick Discipline. Precision. Clarity. Major Stone gets stronger every draft. Worth every penny. Can't wait for you to see what's coming.

I tell new screenwriters all the time, “notes” are a trick. The execs are testing you to see if you submitted a less than perfect script. If you take any of their notes you are admitting failure. That’s why you must respond to every notes email with “lol”

If you could survive for a month with only the food you have in your home right now, you’re incredibly fortunate. It’s staggering how much food Americans throw away each week. One of my resolutions for 2026 is to be less wasteful. (More): realistically I could “survive”, skin and bones, 4-5 months. Would it be pretty/fancy? No. But I wouldn’t starve to death. Yet, as an American, I feel like we (me/my lady) currently need groceries because we’re “out of” certain non-necessities. I get it, capitalism, GDP, workforce etc., still, feels kinda wasteful.

#newbies So much of this business is about likability. You give your script to someone who likes you. Then they give it to someone who likes THEM. Reps often ask writers for a list of people who like them. As well as people who may not. It's way more than having a great script.

Screenwriting books try to convince you that you can write a story by algorithms, but that's not how the greatest movies in history were written (cocaine).
