There would be no difference. The problems of the day would still be ongoing. The void would be filled with a group by a different name representing the same people in the regards of the time. America has always, comfortably fell into one side of the fence or the other on most subjects. We could talk outliners the 3-1 % that don’t “fit in”all day, but let’s not split hairs so fine.
