There used to be a Supporter of BJP called Off-Stumped, don't see any more articles of him. I wonder if he is still Supporting the way BJP and Modi are governing our country.

All prosperous countries have one thing in common, they are all decentralised Decentralisation works across all political and economical models United States - Decentralised China - Decentralised Singapore - Decentralised Switzerland - Decentralised In China, 51% of the total government spending is controlled at the city level, 27% in the US, whereas in India it is mere 3% This makes India far more centralised than nearly all countries in the world. Why are we so obsessed about centralised spending of money from Delhi ? Why can't we decentralise ?

@PingiPitari @CommanMan777589 @BhagwaanUvacha @IndicMeenakshi Please read more , you are conflating Southern Temples with Northern Temples. North didn't have a temple ecosystem like the south. It had only a few key temples which were ravaged. Mughals or Afghans attacked only rich temples and mosques wherever they went.

@SelvakP @CommanMan777589 @BhagwaanUvacha @IndicMeenakshi Ancient temple economies were foundational socio-economic pillars in early India, functioning as major landowners, banks, and employment hubs. North India too had many which were ravaged by Muslims. But in Himalayan belt many have survived.

Mr Pai, India has been influenced by many countries and cultures dealing with us. We have always found ways to take the best of food from each culture and make it better. Mughals are part of larger North Indian history and cannot be erased. You sir, need to spend more time reading history instead of listening to propaganda.

Such rubbish. We had all this centuries before the Mughal invaders. Read your history @TheEconomist Next you will say the East India company brought civilization to India! Shocking how These people are raving mad and bereft of any intelligence or reason. @Iyervval @ARanganathan72 @jsaideepak

The Mughals brought language, food, architecture, music, art and syncretism to India. And they brought Narendra Modi’s party to power economist.com/asia/2026/04/1…

We don't need more MPs, we need more councillors and panchayat politicians. MPs are useless and Modi Ji has made them rubber stamps, there is hardly a good MP from BJP anymore and they hardly spend time in parliament. They don't do any serious debates. The current ones of 543 are enough.

Another argument being put forward is that MPs don't do anything; they only make laws. Each gets 5 crores per year, as a fund to develop their constituency. An MP with 40 lakh people; and an MP with 10 lakh people - both get the same amount. Who will do better? MPs raise issues related to their constituency in the Parliament. Will an MP who has 10 lakh people be able to cover his/her constituency better? Or the one with 40 lakhs? "Fairness means each vote weight equal" - you cannot go on increasing the weight. One day, it will burst! It has to be a reasonable compromise between increase in seats and equality of population.
primeargument@primeargument

A load of nonsense. There is no need yo increase MPs the MP make laws they don't administer their constituencies. Fairness means each vote weight is equal that needs delimitation not increase in seats. Read: primeargument.blogspot.com/2026/04/delimi…

@TastyTrades_ @Amockx2022 None, India needs a coalition government always. We need a calm and a focussed government which is not in 24/7 election mode and doesn't launch new schemes.

@King_of_Orion People just believe Sanskrit is old and divine, but they don't know how to speak it 😁. It is a priestly language where the government wastes 2500 crores per year on it. A language cannot be secret, divine, limited to priests and also be the mass language in India.

All ancient language has either Documented/Archeological Evidences but the biggest joke is, Sanskrit, which claims to be oldest, has no evidence before 1st CE Even more big joke is, other languages evolved over time but Sanskrit just jumped out of nowhere with refined words 😂

@Aureliaa____ It goes higher to government controlled Supply Chain issues. Especially Mutton, we don't know why it costs 1000 a KG almost when the goats are just eating grazing land and not dedicated feed like chickens.

Look please stop giving excuses for non performance in Bengaluru . Cannot the city administration at least clean the roads, remove garbage, debris, fix broken footpaths? Don’t they have the money for at least that? Yes Bengaluru is a great city, wonderful people, etc. but does not take away the fact that city administration has failed for many years to keep the city clean, corruption has increased ,captured by crooked contractors. We should be honest to ourselves not give such excuses. Yes @GBAChiefComm is trying to improve but need to improve fast-at least clean up our city.,
Srinivas Alavilli@srinualavilli

It’s “Bengaluru”. With all our “broken roads, invisible footpaths, unchecked garbage” we some how managed to attract and retain talent and create jobs for millions of Indians coming from everywhere & making it home. Quality of life in Bengaluru is not defined by social media posts designed for engagement farming but lived experiences of people. Talk to people in the real world. Our city is so amazing that no one wants to leave despite issues. It’s a work in progress, like all great cities are. We just went from 1 corporation to 5 and 198 wards to 369 which will lead to better service delivery. Comparing what happens inside a business park with what’s outside doesn’t make sense as the challenges are much different from building and maintaining public infrastructure in the real world with limited powers, funds, capacities. Business parks are mini islands that don’t need to deal with legacy of sewage lines, land rights, legal disputes, 500 years of history. This is the story of all mega cities as our local governance system has not evolved in 30 years; both Union & State governments retain all the revenues generated by cities without sharing them. Cities are not given even a fraction of taxes they generate. If we want our cities to deliver better, we should work on solutions that empower them as City Governments, not compare them.
