At a @SASCGOP hearing, I asked @USNorthernCmd Commander Gen. Gregory Guillot about Canada’s plans to increase defense spending. It’s encouraging to see the new Canadian administration under @MarkJCarney prioritizing stronger investment in defense. Gen. Guillot affirmed this commitment and willingness to step up further.

To address the threat of drone incursions over U.S. military bases, @319thRW was named @aircombatcmd’s Point Defense Battle Lab (PDBL), which will develop tactics and tech to defend installations against small UAS systems. Colonel Rosales at the 319th Reconnaissance Wing at Grand Forks is well positioned to be successful, and I look forward to cutting the ribbon at the PDBL in the next couple of weeks. It’s about making health care accessible, convenient, and practical for those who have served our country.

The Republican-passed WFTC not only lowers tax rates, provides more deductions and credits, and incentivizes small businesses to invest and hire. It enhances 529 education savings accounts, establishes savings accounts for newborns, and creates new school choice tax credits. You can't expect the partisan Trump haters at the Forum to tell you about the many accomplishments of the WFTC for North Dakotans.

I think the $50 billion defense supplemental is a good number to start with. What we’re seeing is how great our military is, but we’re also seeing what our vulnerabilities are. Our opportunity to modernize is right now, and I think $50 billion is adequate for the task right in front of us.
