I’m at the Berkshire provincial Grand Meeting to present the Grand Master two Silver Matchboxes, which are property of Kirby Lodge, to be on permanent loan and displayed in their Provincial museum. Looks like a lot of brethren will be dining after the meeting!

On this day, 24 May 1901, Winston Churchill took his first step into Freemasonry at Studholme Lodge No. 1591. Churchill's regalia now resides in the Museum of Freemasonry at Freemasons’ Hall.

The George Rankin watch. George Rankin was the first Master of Kirby lodge in 1901 and a committee member of ELoI. The Watch was presented to him as a token of his Mastership, but gave the watch back after his death to be presented to each Master Elect of the Lodge.

After all the ceremonies, there was a mass meeting of 800 people in the grand temple, where a grand officer initiated his dad, and his other son (a MM) acted as JD. After the initiation the newly initiated father acted as cushion bearer as his son was installed as ProvAGM.

80 Candidates were initiated throughout the day at Freemasons Hall as part of Buckinghamshire’s 1-2-3 initiative. There were also 40 2nd’s and 39 brethren Raised.

Will be attending Anglo-Colonial Chapter today at Freemasons Hall as their Visiting Officer for their Installation meeting.
