@AJamesMcCarthy That gorgeous photo has been the wallpaper on my laptop since the first time you shared it. Thank you again. 😊

@Coffeem0nster12 @CraigUntlNytTym @dpoddolphinpro Careful! With language like that, they’ll block you, and then the fun will be restricted.

@CraigUntlNytTym @dpoddolphinpro They use scolding hot, extremely high pressure water thats super safe compared to regular fuel to power a steam rocket that will revolutionalize space travel
(They are a scam)

I’d like to disagree with you there. You’re probably thinking that the top of the Starship was simply cut off, leaving a bare cut surface. Even though it’s not visible in this sketch, there is actually a rounded dome covered with heat-shield tiles located beneath the second separation ring.
However, I must mention that this idea is based on future versions of the Starship, namely V4, V5 and later. So it remains speculative.
That said, I have already explored the idea of an Eris Orbiter in more detail. For those who want to delve deeper into the topic: x.com/PanVulpesV/sta…

Powering the next giant leap.
A novel electromagnetic thruster that runs on lithium metal vapor was successfully fired up for the first time during initial tests at JPL.
Fully developed and paired with a nuclear power source, these thrusters could reduce launch mass and support payloads required for human Mars missions.
English

@PanVulpesV @LanaBCandado @NASAJPL Your vision of removing the nose section of Starship to replace it with something else would result in the “second stage” not being reusable at all, whereas fully refuelling Starship in LEO will enable it to be used to travel to many Solar System destinations. Dunno about Eris.
English

I’m already aware of that, but I wanted to take the idea a step further. Why not modify a Starship so that it functions as a reusable second stage and can carry large payloads that can be jettisoned at the top?
And who knows what else might come with V4 or even later versions.
But as you can see, this is an idea that’s still in its very early stages. Other important technical milestones are still needed for an orbiter like this.
But we’re getting closer and closer.

@NASAJPL isn't there a shortage of lithium? maybe design something that runs on something more abundant?
English

@SimonRMerton @illinoisgal31 @OpenAINewsroom Because I don't care that you're surprised about anything.

We can't wait to make our case in court where both the truth and the law are on our side. This lawsuit has always been a baseless and jealous bid to derail a competitor. We'll also finally have the chance to question Mr. Musk under oath before a jury of Californians about this attempt to undermine our work to ensure that artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity.

@tbailey1985 @ai6823768 @JamesLucasIT He was very quick with the ad hominem. Not the sign of a strong intellect.
English

@PingInAfghan @JamesLucasIT I looked at your page and saw that you are indeed what I would call an extremist.
English

@PingInAfghan @JamesLucasIT It’s rather extreme to hold an entire country responsible for what was surely the decision of very few individuals.

@jeholmes5 @JamesLucasIT Looks like a building site to me, and not having seen any renders of the design, that’s all I can say. Where is it?
English

@SimonRMerton @JamesLucasIT I've seen conception pictures of a finished building but to me it looks more like a prison than a library.
English

@DoolallyDiv @JamesLucasIT I’m glad our opinions differ. Diversity is vital.
English

@SimonRMerton @JamesLucasIT It's new and shiny, but just a bland pile of steel and glass. I thought the brutalist library was hideous, but at least it represented a coherent example of a style movement.

@BobScot09089338 @Gap422 @JamesLucasIT No, it was Birmingham in the UK, butt the site has since been redeveloped. Thanks for playing, though.
