THE SECRET OF NONDUALITY Nonduality is a special, superior way of seeing life that will afford you the ability to transcend the mundane and painful life most unenlightened humans lead and be completely free and liberated from all the stuff you want to be liberated from. In order to attain enlightenment or have liberation for no one, you need to meditate while holding a raw chicken on a mat made of nails for six minutes, then do some bodywork (never know what that means, I think it’s either sex or masturbation), and then watch a video by a true guru (TG) like Rupert Spiral or Moojoo or someone who says there is no one or some chick who spaces out for long periods during her talks and looks stoned but acts like she is deep in some spiritual trance. For the best result your practices should be done while dancing the Macarena (old dance, look it up). Then, when you are done, you can play some of what they call “curtain music” (I think that's what they play at the end of a Broadway show or maybe it's the overture before or after they raise the curtain). Anyway, that's about it. The secret of nonduality can be yours if you really are serious about getting lightened up and are not just some pathetic poseur who won’t put the effort into it. Like those loser seekers who won't pony up a decent donation to my Patreon page. Keep in mind that you can either see life with the little shriveled up limp awareness of the separate ego-self or with the fully erect awareness of the enlightened member of the nonduality community. Just become a witness to yourself. This means splitting yourself into two, but that’s okay cause there is no one there anyway, only the giant bloblike oneness that is actually all there is except that, you know, it isn’t. If that doesn’t make sense, it may be because you are stuck being a seeker and have no clue what enlightened teachers are even talking about. So don’t even try to understand, just send for my series of ten 8-track tapes entitled “The Secret of Nonduality” for just 99.99 GBP. If you act now, a raw chicken will be included, kept fresh on dry ice. Plus, you will receive a 3 x 4 picture of me, your guru, that you can wear around your neck like the enslaved little acolyte you know you want to be. So why this little exercise in not all that witty satire? Just noticing the flood of teachings, even in the guise of non-teachings, hitting the nondual marketplace. If it’s about an experience, it’s not what we speak of here. If it’s about getting something you are lacking, it’s not what we speak of here. If it’s about following some method or doing some act to improve, it’s not what we speak of here. And, yes, all these things ARE this, and there is no one who can choose to listen to or follow any voice or message, anymore than you can go outside and choose which way the wind will blow. The “view” as Sakura and Ariana call it, presented here arises without any warranty or claim of truth; it simply notices what seems to separate. And ultimately, any view dissolves into a symphony in which no separate notes can even be found. No one needs to hear what cannot be said, no one needs to see what remains invisible, and no one needs to know what is not even unknowable. The secret of nonduality, as anyone with a cursory familiarity with this group can tell you, is that there is no secret, no hidden truth, and no path to follow. Nothing to lose and nothing to gain. Just this, as we like to say. Just love that doesn’t care if there is such a thing as love. And not even that <3 Miranda Warren

This is the new EF Mandate. For many of you, the contents should be no surprise, and a clarification along the lines that we have been going and thinking for the past few months. But the clarification is nevertheless worth making. Ethereum is a unique object and has a unique role in the world. Its role is to be a sanctuary technology, to preserve technological self-sovereignty, to enable cooperation without coercion, domination or rugpulling, and to provide an escape hatch, to ensure that no single person, organization or ideology's victory in cyberspace can be total. The Ethereum Foundation is a steward of Ethereum - the original steward, and today, the steward specifically dedicated to preserving and expanding the above aspects of Ethereum. This means a heavy emphasis on CROPS (censorship and capture resistance, open source, privacy, security), both at the protocol layer, and at the access layer, user-facing applications and tools that we create or contribute to. There are things that we do in Ethereum because we believe that they are valuable for the underlying goals that we have for Ethereum. There are things that we do not do because from the perspective of our values we find them uninteresting (or worse, harmful). But there are also things that we do not do because while they are useful, they are not our role. At the Ethereum protocol layer, we focus on decentralization, verifiability, inclusion guarantees, protocol liveness, security and privacy first and foremost. We also value capabilities (eg. L1 scale, account abstraction, perhaps some forms of in-protocol aggregation), particularly because improvements in these capabilities better enable users to properly benefit from Ethereum's CROPS properties and displace the need for higher-layer intermediaries that might weaken the extent to which Ethereum's properties carry over into the full stack. We also believe that the Ethereum protocol must strive to pass the walkaway test. "We do X to specialize to serve the use cases of today, if more use cases appear later, we will continue to keep adding more EIPs for them later" is logic fit for many other blockchains whose names you hear often on this forum, but we do not believe it is logic fit for a decentralization-first blockchain like Ethereum. At the application layer, we focus on making "the zero option" - user experience that goes hard on ensuring security and privacy, avoiding dependence on intermediaries, and respecting the user's agency - as high quality as possible. We see this as complementary to work in the Ethereum ecosystem that "goes broad", starting from the world that it exists, and brings it onchain and improves its properties over time. Such work has its natural home outside the EF. We intend to be supportive of such efforts. We believe that the two are complementary: tools that are developed within the EF can be adopted by anyone, including partially, and even partial adoption that improves people's security, privacy and agency is a good thing. But the form of user experience that is more heavily insistent on CROPS properties is where we want the EF to develop its center of expertise. This does not mean shrinking from the hard questions. We believe in a vision of self-sovereignty that protects users, and does not leave users in the cold to face environments where they lose their life savings if they make a mistake, and click "yes" on a confirmation screen by accident two seconds after. But such protection must be designed based on a philosophical baseline of empowering the user, not empowering centralized organizations that claim to act in the user's name. This quadrant of design space - caring about users' (including non-experts') well-being and safety, and yet insistent on doing this in a way compatible with their agency and freedom, is underserved (not just in crypto, but in the world). We wish to use Ethereum as a platform to build out and showcase this quadrant, and ideally work with others to expand its reach over time. This is also a new chapter in how we see our position in the world. We must see ourselves not just as the Ethereum community, but also as maintainers of the Ethereum tool within what you might call the CROPS community or the sanctuary tech community, or a dozen of other words that have for a long time been used by people with similar values to us but far outside Ethereum. This means open-mindedness to new conceptions of what things in the world are our natural allies. Ethereum is not the world. Ethereum is a specific object in the world that is here to have specific properties. The Ethereum Foundation is a specific organization within Ethereum - one steward, not the sole one. I encourage all to read the mandate in detail; it includes concrete examples of how we intend to deal with the challenges and nuances of these ideas. We are doubling down on Ethereum and are excited about its next chapter.

New York wants to ban you from asking AI a question You're sitting on the bathroom floor at 11pm. Your kid is screaming. The rash is spreading up his arm. You're holding your phone with one hand and holding him with the other. You don't have insurance. You don't have $400 for a doctor. The urgent care closed an hour ago. You're Googling symptoms and getting ten different answers from ten sketchy websites. So you open Claude. You describe the rash. It tells you it's probably contact dermatitis. Try hydrocortisone cream tonight. See a doctor if it spreads or your kid gets a fever. Your hands stop shaking. You sleep. Kathy Hochul wants to take that away from you. You're the dad who works 3 shifts. You come home and there's a paper taped to your door. You read it three times and still don't understand what it means. You have seven days. You call a lawyer. $317 an hour. You have $40 in your checking account and two kids asleep inside an apartment you might lose by Friday. You open AI. In ten seconds you find out the notice isn't even legal. It tells you your rights. It tells you what to file. It tells you what to say. New York wants to make that illegal. You're the kid from the small town who left the farm for your first job in the city. Your employer puts a contract in front of you. Non-compete. Arbitration clause. Words you've never seen before. Your parents never signed anything like this. They worked with their hands. You ask AI to explain it in plain English. It does. For free. At midnight. New York wants to make that illegal too. Senate Bill S7263. Bans AI from giving "substantive responses" about medicine, law, dentistry, nursing, psychology, social work, engineering, and more. Not banning AI from pretending to be your doctor. Not banning AI from writing prescriptions. Banning AI from answering your questions. North Korea controls what you can read. New York wants to control what you can ask. So you have to go back to paying $317 an hour for a lawyer. $400 for a doctor visit. $200 for a therapist. Money you don't have. Money that goes right back into the pockets of the people who wrote this bill. Who does this actually hurt? It's not the guy on Park Avenue. He has a doctor on speed dial. He has a lawyer on retainer. He has a therapist he sees on Tuesdays. It's the single mom in the Bronx with no insurance and a sick kid at 11pm. It's the grandma who just got served papers she can't read. It's the first-gen college kid signing a contract nobody in his family has ever seen before. For the first time, a single mom had access to the same information as the guy on Park Avenue. Not better care. Not a free lawyer. Just answers. Just enough to know what questions to ask. You want to know why? Follow the money. Any trial lawyer in New York can sue AI companies and collect fees when they win. It's a lawsuit printing press. $377 million was spent lobbying Albany last year. A record. The healthcare lobby alone spent $11.5 million. Trial lawyer PACs pumped $4.7 million into New York politicians. Governor Hochul took over $545,000 from them personally. One company gave her office $300,000 in donations and got $400 million in Medicaid contracts back. Every $317/hour law firm that doesn't want you getting free answers. Every hospital billing $400 for a ten-minute visit. The entire industry that profits from keeping you confused. The lobbyists write the bill. The politicians file the bill. The lawyers profit from the bill. And the single mom in the Bronx loses the only help she could afford. In the 1800s they called public libraries dangerous because poor people had unsupervised access to books. In 1910 they shut down Black medical schools to "protect patients." Every time the gates start to crack open for regular people, someone with a billing rate shows up to weld them shut. They want you poor and stupid. And they'll call it consumer protection. And the kid with the rash at 11pm? He goes back to ten sketchy websites and a mom who can't sleep. New York shouldn't be North Korea.

BTC and ETH are special for a simple reason: they launched in the earliest days of crypto and achieved a level of distribution and network effects that cannot be replicated. No amount of capital, marketing, or engineering talent that VCs and corporations throw at new projects can recreate what emerged organically during those early years. The difference is that BTC ossified too early. Its technical limitations are becoming an increasing burden on the network, constraining adoption and ultimately the value of the underlying asset. Ethereum, on the other hand, continued to evolve. It has managed to expand its capabilities while preserving its social contract, and it is steadily becoming the internet of finance. If this trends continues, BTC will become a niche asset while ETH becomes the preferred and more valuable digital store of value.

Introducing strawmap, a strawman roadmap by EF Protocol. Believe in something. Believe in an Ethereum strawmap. Who is this for? The document, available at strawmap[.]org, is intended for advanced readers. It is a dense and technical resource primarily for researchers, developers, and participants in Ethereum governance. Visit ethereum[.]org/roadmap for more introductory material. Accessible explainers unpacking the strawmap will follow soon™. What is the strawmap? The strawmap is an invitation to view L1 protocol upgrades through a holistic lens. By placing proposals on a single visual it provides a unified perspective on Ethereum L1 ambitions. The time horizon spans years, extending beyond the immediate focus of All Core Devs (ACD) and forkcast[.]org which typically cover only the next couple of forks. What are some of the highlights? The strawmap features five simple north stars, presented as black boxes on the right: → fast L1: fast UX, via short slots and finality in seconds → gigagas L1: 1 gigagas/sec (10K TPS), via zkEVMs and real-time proving → teragas L2: 1 gigabyte/sec (10M TPS), via data availability sampling → post quantum L1: durable cryptography, via hash-based schemes → private L1: first-class privacy, via shielded ETH transfers What is the origin story? The strawman roadmap originated as a discussion starter at an EF workshop in Jan 2026, partly motivated by a desire to integrate lean Ethereum with shorter-term initiatives. Upgrade dependencies and fork constraints became particularly effective at surfacing valuable discussion topics. The strawman is now shared publicly in a spirit of proactive transparency and accelerationism. Why the "strawmap" name? "Strawmap" is a portmanteau of "strawman" and "roadmap". The strawman qualifier is deliberate for two reasons: 1. It acknowledges the limits of drafting a roadmap in a highly decentralized ecosystem. An "official" roadmap reflecting all Ethereum stakeholders is effectively impossible. Rough consensus is fundamentally an emergent, continuous, and inherent uncertain process. 2. It underscores the document's status as a work-in-progress. Although it originated within the EF Protocol cluster, there are competing views held among its 100 members, not to mention a rich diversity of non-EFer views. The strawmap is not a prediction. It is an accelerationist coordination tool, sketching one reasonably coherent path among millions of possible outcomes. What is the strawmap time frame? The strawmap focuses on forks extending through the end of the decade. It outlines seven forks by 2029 based on a rough cadence of one fork every six months. While grounded in current expectations, these timelines should be treated with healthy skepticism. The current draft assumes human-first development. AI-driven development and formal verification could significantly compress schedules. What do the letters on top represent? The strawmap is organized as a timeline, with forks progressing from left to right. Consensus layer forks follow a star-based naming scheme with incrementing first letters: Altair, Bellatrix, Capella, Deneb, Electra, Fulu, etc. Upcoming forks such as Glamsterdam and Hegotá have finalized names. Other forks, like I* and J*, have placeholder names (with I* pronounced "I star"). What do the colors and arrows represent? Upgrades are grouped into three color-coded horizontal layers: consensus (CL), data (DL), execution (EL). Dark boxes denote headliners (see below), grey boxes indicate offchain upgrades, and black boxes represent north stars. An explanatory legend appears at the bottom. Within each layer, upgrades are further organized by theme and sub-theme. Arrows signal hard technical dependencies or natural upgrade progressions. Underlined text in boxes links to relevant EIPs and write-ups. What are headliners? Headliners are particularly prominent and ambitious upgrades. To maintain a fast fork cadence, the modern ACD process limits itself to one consensus and one execution headliner per fork. For example, in Glamsterdam, these headliners are ePBS and BALs, respectively. (L* is an exceptional fork, displaying two headliners tied to the bigger lean consensus fork. Lean consensus landing in L* would be a fateful coincidence.) Will the strawmap evolve? Yes, the strawmap is a living and malleable document. It will evolve alongside community feedback, R&D advancements, and governance. Expect at least quarterly updates, with the latest revision date noted on the document. Can I share feedback? Yes, feedback is actively encouraged. The EF Protocol strawmap is maintained by the EF Architecture team: @adietrichs, @barnabemonnot, @fradamt, @drakefjustin. Each has open DMs and can be reached at first.name@ethereum[.]org. General inquiries can be sent to strawmap@ethereum[.]org.
