@solventspurs @SniersMoregut The athletic guys were surmising they're afraid of a fanbase that's unified but I think its more than likely some combination of timing and someone at the club has a bad taste in their mouth.

No matter where you land on De Zerbi’s comments on Greenwood, and if they should disqualify him for this job, one thing is clear:
He will have to address them when he arrives.
If not, they’ll act as a distraction, and stop large parts of the fanbase from ever getting on board.

He’s back in England now. There is a reason Greenwood isn’t playing here.
Fans and media will care about this in another way than France and Spain.
Even goes beyond our fanbase and reporters.

Feeling within Spurs is they're closing in on their man in Roberto De Zerbi. His football matches how club want to play. Question marks over how quickly he can implement it & reaction to his Greenwood comments. Track record doesn't scream long term but Spurs rarely do long term.
