@GarnettLee lets see. i dont think he will set us up to play like this going forward. probably a compramise made based on the players availible. Gallagher will have to win his starting spot all over again next season with more competition and diffrent, more attacking playing philosaphy.

@simonyemane Would like nothing more than for him to be the player he can be next season. If RDZ is unlocking that, awesome

I love this type honesty and vulnerability from players. Gallagher has been immense under RDZ. The plan devised to keep us up simply doesn’t work without him. He’s a big reason why we didn’t get relegated. He should be treated accordingly from now on.

@GarnettLee i think you are missing something. The biggest impact RDZ has made is to our defense. partly by organizing in a better way, partly by keeping the ball better but most of it by making us press better. Gallagher has been the most imprtant and impactful player when it comes to that.

@simonyemane I’m missing something. He looks to me to be running all over not making much happen, not in position for opportunities as a result, and with a poor first touch and not much of a shot. Bergvall might not be quite ready yet. He still seems more promising to me

A complete disgrace. I bet you anything the excuses are rolled out in the summer for every no.1 transfer. MGW was gettable at the right price. Levy was trying to scam Forest and got played. He wasted 3 weeks of our window while Maranakis ‘convinced’ the player to stay. That is the point our season died imo. The finisher was bartering over Eze for so long that Arsenal swept in. Not that Eze would have been a game changer, but the nature of the rejection was humiliating for the club. Both players went on to dunk on us in the league, and that’s no coincidence.

🗣️ Peter Charrington’s message to #Tottenham fans Dear Supporters, On Sunday, despite a season that gave you so little, you gave everything. A full stadium, full voice, full belief, until the final whistle. I have thought carefully about how to begin this letter, and in the end that moment said it better than I can. It is why we owe you honesty about where we have fallen short, and what we are committed to now. Last September, we recognised that something seismic had to change at Spurs. The Lewis family stepped in and authorised a full reset. That decision was not taken lightly, and it came later than it should have. But what has been put in motion is real, and it marks a genuine break from what had come before. As part of that process, we discovered some uncomfortable truths. The qualities that make Spurs distinct, our football, our ambition, the connection between the team and its supporters, had been allowed to fade. Football success had not been driving our decisions. We did not have the right expertise in key roles. We did not build squads good enough to compete in the most demanding league in the world. Two 17th place finishes in a row is not acceptable, and we will not dress it up as anything other than falling well short of what this Club expects. Since September, we have restructured leadership across the Club, with a refreshed executive and football structure. Most of this team are already in post and others will arrive in the coming weeks. The Board are committed to this leadership group and will give them the stability and support they need to run this Club in the right way. Roberto De Zerbi is signed as Men's Head Coach for five years, a reflection of our belief in his ability and our commitment to build back to where we need to be. He is passionate, committed and positive in everything he does, and represents the kind of football and ambition that Tottenham Hotspur should stand for. Our commitments to you are clear: • We will build a squad, led by Roberto as Head Coach, with the right blend of experience, youth and leadership to compete at the highest levels of Premier League and European football.
• We will invest across multiple transfer windows to rebuild, balance and strengthen, with this summer representing an important first step in that work.
• We will continue to modernise our football operation, with a significant focus on raising standards across medical and performance.
• We will increase investment in the Academy to ensure that the pathway from youth football to the first team is one of the strongest in the country.
• We will build on a strong season for Spurs Women by continuing to invest in a world-class women's team, led by Martin Ho. Since becoming Chairman, I have realised that Spurs fans are built differently. I have seen it over and over again in the last nine months, across every generation, in every conversation. Even in the darkest of seasons, you showed up and carried this team. That loyalty is not something we take for granted. It is something we are determined to be worthy of. There has been speculation about ownership and the future direction of the Club. Let us be direct. Tottenham Hotspur is not for sale. The Lewis family are wholly committed to this Club and to this rebuild. They will provide the stability and investment needed at every level to move us forward, and they see that as a long-term responsibility, not a short-term fix. This season fell well short of what Tottenham Hotspur demands. We must be in the fight with the best teams in this league, every season, and we are rebuilding this Club with that standard in mind. This Club lives in the hearts of everyone who has ever loved it. It has been carried through living rooms and stands, weekends and long journeys home. We will get back to where we belong. Yesterday was amazing but no amount of relief will make me forget why we almost got relegated or who is responsible. We all know who they are and what should happen. There can be no real change at this club without real accountability and consequences for those holding us back.

Fans carried the players to the final whistle today. One of the most patient, loyal set of supporters you’ll find. Proper fanbase who deserve more. Did ourselves proud in this run in.

I’ve done a lot of impressive things in my life but not throwing up during those 100 minutes is probably the thing I’m most proud of.

Said it before but the difference in composure and structure on the ball before and after De Zerbi’s arrival has been a reminder of how much coaching matters. Weight of passes, angles on passes, pass and go movements, players actually showing for the ball — all so much better.

@simonyemane I hope he had something written into his contract that said if we stay up he gets a huge bonus. Because he has done this. I wasn't his biggest fan going into his appointment but hats off to him #COYS

De Zerbi has already proven he deserved his monster contract. A monumental achievement considering the timeframe he had to fix this team and the injury circumstances he had to navigate. I have no doubt we go down if he doesn’t arrive when he did. Legend. Now give him the 🔑🗝️

@simonyemane @AlasdairGold I suspect he’s really only talking about the top 18 or so players. I also wonder if that includes injured players like kulu. Does he count as an addition? Is he included in the 10 to 12 players?

I’m not going to talk about Vinai, Lange or our owners today. RDZ, our players, and fans saved this season. I’m going to focus on them. I’m going to focus on us getting one happy day after experiencing the season from hell. We deserve it. COYS🤍
