@georgeachillea Love your detailed analysis mate. It doesn’t matter if I’m a coach mate, there are some brilliant opinions out there from people who don’t work in the game. It’s just my opinion , it’s all subjective!

I can’t lie Harry I think I disagree with your take on Savinho overall Granted you’re a football coach and I’m not so I’m 100% willing to accept I could be wrong here 😂 But I’ve watched a lot of full 90 minute matches from Savinho at Man City and Girona both playing LW and RW in preparation for my video on him and I saw someone who: - Is an extremely intelligent player when it comes to understanding space whether that be his position in relation to receiving a pass or creating separation from his opponent - Reads the body language of his opponent very well and can even manipulate his movements - More versatile than his time at Man City suggests - at Girona he’d start out wide but very very often would drive centrally in tight spaces and still get out of it - An EFFECTIVE dribbler who took his man on when they took the bait and changed defensive position - otherwise passed back to hold onto possession - When playing with Cherki he changed from a player wanting to receive short to a more direct winger running in behind fullbacks because he knew he could receive the difficult pass more often The more “negative” takeaways for me were: - Long passing accuracy wasn’t great - Sometimes held on to the ball too long if driving into loads of space - Shooting quality wasn’t great, even when he scored more at Girona it was often tap ins from keeper spills or just not great keeping in general from longer range - On the RW specifically he is too predictable and favours cutting in onto his left more than anything - Sometimes too weak if he received with his back to goal (probably why he likes receiving so wide) To me a lot of his attributes are very threatening but mostly from the left hand side. Still a lot to work on but I don’t personally see him as someone who offers “very little” Keen to get your thoughts on this as I’m genuinely curious to learn 😅
Harry Brooks@hbrooks_coach

Moura offered way more than Savinho. At least with Moura, there wasn’t a single situation where people could go “he’s not a threat here”. He could turn nothing into something at any moment, anywhere, and had so much variety to how he did it. He scored so many types of goal. So many different areas. He lacked rhythm and feel for the game and appreciation of team mates and that’s why he wasn’t able to sustain it at the top. But he at least excelled at those things I just said. So Savinho has similar weaknesses, but very few of the strengths of Lucas Moura.

#thfc Understand this is not the position at the moment at all. Jamie one of the few players who had been out on loan last season who is continuing to train with the first-team and not the U21s and RDZ appears to rate him.
Darren Witcoop@DarrenOWitcoop

Tottenham will listen to offers for Northern Ireland attacking midfielder Jamie Donley this summer. Donley has already spent loan spells in the Championship with Stoke and Oxford. Striker Will Lankshear also attracting interest with Southampton keen. #soton

@evanisaaclipkin I don’t agree. He’s a 20y old with a European trophy win and 2 PL seasons under his belt. Multiple clubs want him. One of the most sought after young players in football. We got 52 for a player who had no other suitors and never played a minute in the PL. That’s the bar now

@simonyemane I think he's gone as soon as someone hits 50m. That's a great price for Bergvall imo.

In a very dry LW market, I think Savinho is the right choice for Spurs. Out of all the options, he has the best balance of PL experience, tactical fit, age, and growth potential. If you’re taking a chance on someone anyway, take it on the safest bet. Savinho is that player.

@simonyemane Thinking it through w/ no emotions, selling the likes of our 'older' MFs would make more sense, for me. I get we haven't sold well in recent past, but just seems lil extreme to start selling our young talents when we don't need to (like NUFC selling Elliot).

@simonyemane Seems crazy to me that we would sell Vuskovic (who never played a minute in the PL) for 50m and then sell Lucas, who not only played, but played well consistently (frank time not included) AND has huge ceiling, for less than 50m. He should cost A LOT more

@Cackalackyman Definitely me coping even though I thought it was way more plausible Vuskovic would leave. Hasn’t played a minute for us, Bergvall has 2 seasons with us and doesn’t actually want to leave.

@simonyemane But you do know deep inside that it will. This is like the Vuskovic deal: People kept saying he wouldn't be sold, just loaned out, but clubs don't keep sending in bids if they've not been given indication that a deal could be possible.

@DaveSeperson Yup. I get it if if it’s a price and deal structure we can’t turn down but in general I can’t believe this is even a general topic of discussion in regards to some of these players

@simonyemane They have to realize how bad this would be if we made Europe next year. Bergvall & Gray being "club-trained" is so massive to the UEFA squad requirments. We can't go into next season with only potentially Austin, Gray, Moore & Lankshear.

@lawdiobeats I hear that but most of those are more inside forwards than 1v1 wingers which is what I THINK rdz is aiming at. Also younger which is what I mean with less risk in terms of re-sale value.

@simonyemane Get where you're coming from, feel like there are lower risk PL options who have proven record of delivering though. Players like Summerville, Tavernier, Schade, Ouattara, Hudson-Odoi might not be as glamorous, but have proven themselves more than Savinho
