Last night, I read the entirety of C.S. Lewis' The Screwtape Letters. It's a novel told in the form of letters written by a demon to another demon instructing him on ways to manipulate his "patient" to do evil. This one quote sounded familiar.

@MorbidKnowledge It's funny how much people react against something like LSD or Cannabis or Mushrooms (or any other drug used for recreation). They only have those reactions because their government tells them to do so. Simple sheep.

In 1943, Swiss chemist Albert Hofmann accidentally absorbed a tiny amount of LSD through his fingertips and spent the afternoon mildly hallucinating at his desk. Three days later he accidentally took 10 times than the standard recreational dose. He drank what he believed was a cautiously small dose, and unknowingly took ten times a modern recreational amount with no frame of reference whatsoever. At precisely 4:20pm on April 19, Hofmann dissolved 250 micrograms in water and drank it. By 5:00pm his lab journal entries were deteriorating. Dizziness. Anxiety. Visual disturbance. Writing became impossible. He asked his assistant to take him home. Wartime Basel had banned private cars, so the only option was a bicycle. He spent the ride convinced his neighbour was a witch and that he had gone permanently insane. April 19 is now celebrated annually as Bicycle Day. Hofmann later discovered that 20 to 30 micrograms were sufficient for noticeable effects. He had taken more than twelve times that amount. He lived to 102, took small doses for the rest of his life, and called LSD his "problem child." He never regretted discovering it.

A grim dark and menacing looking Angron Primarch of the World Eaters which we really enjoyed painting for our client to lead their Khorne collection. For a quote or to book your commission: siegestudios.co.uk/get-a-quote The overall darker palette on this piece really complimented the aggressive and iconic silhouette of this fantastic sculpt. 🩸 What Primarch would you love to see brought to life next with a new plastic model for 40k? #40k #paintingwarhammer #paintingwarhammer40k #warhammercommunity #worldeaters

The silence from @piersmorgan about terrorists in press vests in Gaza is deafening. You want to get angry that Israel is killing “journalists?” Guess what?! They’re not. They’re killing terrorists in press vests. Piers should be the LOUDEST critic, yet he’s conspicuously quiet
Aizenberg@Aizenberg55

🧵TODAY Hamas admitted that Abdullah Breis was a commander posing as a “journalist”— it is no longer “Israel says so” evidence. Over 60% of "journalists" killed in Gaza are outed as combatants, more every week. A systematic human shield strategy. NINE recent examples below: 1/

@J0hnADouglas No. Amazon turns everything into woke garbage. This would've been a "modern audiences" interpretation. We dodged a catastrophe with this. It's a good thing they canceled it because it would've been awful.

Pour one out for Stargate. Canceled because the writers WEREN’T chasing the mythical modern audience

Stargate SG-1 writer Joseph Mallozzi confirms the news that Amazon killed the new Stargate show: "Sadly, it's true. Amazon has elected not to move forward with the new Stargate series. There's not much I can add beyond confirming what's happened. But I will say this..." "Creator Martin Gero developed a new Stargate series over two years, ultimately crafting a show that offered a fresh jumping-on point for new viewers while deeply respecting existing canon. It was a series that avoided the pitfalls of several modern remakes and reboots by fully embracing the core of its predecessors: action, adventure, exploration, wonder, heart, humor, and found family. And based on that creative vision, the new Stargate series was greenlit in November of 2025." "As of today, officially, that original vision is no more. We'll never get the opportunity to introduce you to that world and those characters - or reintroduce you to, and check in with, some familiar faces from the past." "My heart breaks. For the incredibly talented writers who worked tirelessly to bring this show to life. For Martin who maintained an unwavering positive outlook throughout despite the challenges, and who always strove to make a show that would honor the fans while welcoming a new audiences. And for the long-suffering Stargate fandom who waited so long and came so close to getting a show they truly would have loved." Did Stargate fans lose out on something that would have been truly special?

Low Fantasy in Knight's Path For us, low fantasy means the world stays grounded and believable. There will be no elves or dwarves, no hordes of orcs threatening kingdoms or wizards casting fireballs. The core of the game remains firmly historical in tone, focused on a medieval human society shaped by feudal hierarchy, power, political intrigue, war, faith, and the everyday hardships and joys of life in the Middle Ages. Fantasy elements do exist, but they are rare and subtle. Creatures like the wyvern and the giant snail are inspired by medieval manuscripts and folklore and are treated as unusual, rare parts of the natural world rather than common sights. Magic, where it exists at all, is indirect and ambiguous. Long rituals, superstition, divination, curses, and effects that may or may not even be real magic, rather than anything flashy or obvious. If a truly magical item exists, it is treated as a divine artifact or a once in a lifetime miracle, not an everyday tool. Overall, fantasy is there to add atmosphere, mystery, and tension, and to let the player experience the medieval world through the eyes of medieval people, who often believed the world to be far more magical than we do today, while still keeping the world feel real.
