I did a business mastermind with @1MarkMoss this weekend and it was amazing.
We spent three days at his ranch networking with some highly successful entrepreneurs.
There were a few people that were trying to 'figure it out' and after talking to them, I realized that most people don't know the 'secret' to starting a business.
The secret is simple, but if you don't follow it, the likelihood of failure is extremely high.
Here it is...
Find demand and then provide supply.
That's it.
What do most people do though?
They provide supply without ever proving or knowing that demand exists.
'I want to sell ice cream in Alaska.'
'I'm going to create a hair salon for bald people.'
As ridiculous as these seem, I've seen worse.
This concept applies to almost every business you can think of.
- Saas
- Amazon product
- TikTok shop
- Youtube/Tiktok/Instagram influencer
- Service business
- Local business
- Online store
- Etc
For every different kind of business, there's different methods of validation to find demand.
Google search trends for local businesses and service businesses
Fastmoss for tiktok products
Helium10 for Amazon products
Observation of what your friends and family are buying
VidIQ for insights to youtube search
The point is, if you want to be successful, find the demand first and then provide supply.
If you want me to go into how to provide supply, let me know in the comments and if you want more insights into business, leave a like and a repost.
