Builders are mixed bag - some follow norms but for land owners there are no rules.. City Roads are passing through individual lands...MCG can't do anything there and Two Planning has no WIIFM

Gurgaon’s garbage crisis is basically a case study in how NOT to run urban governance. For nearly 2 years, the city has been operating in a “temporary arrangement” mode after scrapping its waste contractor; with citizens/RWAs forced to improvise using informal labour. Now, suddenly, a big reset; new D2D tender, 800 vehicles, 2 agencies, sanitation drives, landfill reduction targets. On paper, it sounds great. On ground? Residents clearly don’t trust the execution, and honestly, why would we? Add to that the new SWM Rules 2026; strict segregation, bulk generators responsible for processing waste, penalties for non-compliance. Again, strong framework; but India’s problem has never been policy, its enforcement. The real question⬇️
Will Gurgaon finally move from adhoc firefighting to a stable, accountable waste system?
