Recently returned from a vacation in Europe. The strawberries there were red to the core and full of flavor, just like I remember from my childhood in Maryland. Now all the strawberries in stores have a white core and lack flavor. What’s going on?

The joy I feel as the America 250 celebrations spin up fills me w/ American pride. A bald eagle swooping in to open the UFC weigh ins is just perfection. We are regaining our mojo as the global superpower capable of anything. Let the haters h8, they can't compete and they have always been envious. DC is being cleaned up to be worthy of our capital and the festivities here and around the country will be a fitting launch for the next 250. God has truly blessed America!

America has no obligation to provide our technology to other countries. For an ally like the UK, however, we are likely happy to share without any expectation of getting something in return. Perhaps you should ask nicely.

Army Achievement – For exceptionally meritorious achievement from 20 February through 5 April 1986, while attached to 1st Special Forces Operational Detachment – DELTA (Airborne). For eliminating critical personnel shortages through recruiting, interviewing, and selecting personnel of the highest caliber for assignment to key positions. This recruiting effort established an Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Section to provide direct EOD Support to the Saber Squadrons. I set up a Direct Support 6-person EOD Section in Delta. I interviewed  EOD techs for the six NCOs positions. Once the section stood up, I moved on to run Delta's Research and Development Program and then the Breach R&D SGM. Yup...Took Basic Training there at "Ft. Lost In The Woods Misery" back in 84'...all our senior NCOs were Nam vets- Thank GOD!...Set our heads on straight from their hard lessons learned blood sweat & tears...prepared me well for my continued mentoring & developing skill sets in the Cav🇺🇲🫡👍🏻

When I was stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, I took charge of organized caving in Pulaski County. Missouri is home to around 8,000 caves. I discovered six while I was there. The "NSS" in the photo stands for National Speleological Society. While there, I did cave mapping and conducted bat surveys. We also did cave rescues. The photo was taken inside Barry Cave, MO, but if you google it, the cave won't come up as a known entity in Missouri. But I assure you, it's there.

I donated all of my caving maps, books (including a rare book on Missouri Caves), bat identification cards, marked topographical maps, etc. to the Onondaga Cave State Park in Missouri.

هذه كارثة يجب معالجتها..... حذر مرصد "العراق الأخضر" المختص بالشؤون البيئية، اليوم الأحد، من المخاطر الصحية الناجمة عن تلوث مصادر المياه في العراق، مؤكداً أن بكتيريا القولون الهوائية المعروفة بـ"(E. coli)" الموجودة في المياه الملوثة، ومنها نهر دجلة، قد تتسبب بالإصابة بنحو 13 مرضاً مختلفاً. وأوضح المرصد في بيان تلقته "الساعة"، أن "هذه البكتيريا تعيش بشكل طبيعي في أمعاء البشر والحيوانات، إلا أن بعض سلالاتها قد تؤدي إلى مشكلات صحية خطيرة عند انتقالها إلى أماكن أخرى في الجسم أو عبر تناول مياه وأطعمة ملوثة". وأشار إلى أن "أبرز الأمراض المرتبطة بهذه البكتيريا تشمل اضطرابات الجهاز الهضمي، مثل الإسهال الحاد الذي قد يتحول إلى إسهال دموي، إضافة إلى المغص الشديد والغثيان والقيء وارتفاع طفيف في درجات الحرارة". وأضاف أن "التهابات المسالك البولية تعد من الأمراض الشائعة الناتجة عن انتقال البكتيريا إلى مجرى البول، مسببة ألماً أثناء التبول وتكرار الحاجة إليه وآلاماً في أسفل البطن والظهر". وأكد المرصد أن "أخطر المضاعفات تتمثل في الإصابة بمتلازمة انحلال الدم اليوريمية، التي قد تؤدي إلى تدمير خلايا الدم الحمراء والفشل الكلوي الحاد وانخفاض الصفائح الدموية". ولفت إلى أن "وصول البكتيريا إلى مجرى الدم أو أعضاء أخرى في الجسم قد يسبب حالات خطيرة، منها تسمم الدم، والتهابات المرارة والقنوات الصفراوية، فضلاً عن التهاب السحايا لدى المواليد الجدد في بعض الحالات". ونبه المرصد إلى "استمرار طرح ملايين الأمتار المكعبة من المياه الثقيلة غير المعالجة في الأنهار ومصادر المياه من شمال العراق إلى جنوبه"، محذراً من أن "المياه المعقمة المعبأة والمتداولة في الأسواق قد لا تكون حلاً كاملاً للمشكلة، خصوصاً في حال احتواء المياه على عناصر ثقيلة ومواد سامة يصعب التخلص منها". ودعا المرصد السلطتين التنفيذية والتشريعية إلى "عقد جلسة طارئة لمناقشة التلوث المتفاقم في نهر دجلة وبقية مصادر المياه، واتخاذ إجراءات حاسمة للحد من أسبابه وفرض أقصى العقوبات على الجهات المتسببة به".
