Recently, out of @FBINewHaven’s Child Exploitation Task Force with local partners, we arrested Bryan Cruz Solano (20) on federal charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Child. Law enforcement had received a tip that Cruz was distributing child sexual abuse material including videos of himself with the 12 year old. After investigators moved rapidly, Cruz was arrested and will face justice - after additional photos and videos of the victim had been found in his residence during the search. CASE UPDATE from @FBISeattle: Armed Kent, Washington, drug trafficker sentenced to six years in prison for role in a family-led drug conspiracy In March 2026, Treyvon Mitchell pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute controlled substances. During the investigation, Mitchell, 33, was identified as a co-conspirator in the Jackson Family drug distribution ring, and was a high-level member of the group which distributed more than 800,000 fentanyl pills throughout the United States, including in Arizona, Texas, Missouri, Montana, and Georgia. Over the course of the investigation, law enforcement seized more than 846,000 fentanyl pills, nearly 7 kilograms of fentanyl powder, 7 kilograms of cocaine and 29 firearms, as well as more than $116,000 in cash. This case is being investigated by #FBI Seattle and its law enforcement partners, with support from @FBIPhoenix, @FBIAtlanta, @FBIKansasCity, @FBIDallas, @FBILasVegas, and @FBIBillings. 🚨 Cold Case Solved After 35+ Years 🚨 In a breakthrough using investigative genetic genealogy, the FBI has identified human remains found at West Point Lake in Troup County back in 1990. The victim, Craig Alexander Maddox from Arkansas, had been missing for decades. Despite the body being in an advanced state of decomposition, investigators preserved DNA evidence that ultimately led to his identification. Thanks to the persistence of investigators in Troup County and cutting-edge genetic genealogy techniques, families now have answers—even after 35 years. The FBI’s Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Division gathered for a memorial honoring fallen FBI agents and law enforcement officers at the annual Memorial Ceremony in Honor of Fallen West Virginia Law Enforcement Officers on Thursday, May 21. During the solemn ceremony, the #FBI and local law enforcement agencies paid tribute to all West Virginia law enforcement officers and FBI agents who have given their lives in the line of duty. The annual ceremony has been held on the FBI’s CJIS Division campus since 1995 and is a continuous reminder of the sacrifice made by those who gave their lives in service to protect our communities.

CASE UPDATE from @FBIChicago: Chicago Federal Court Imposes Statutory Maximum Sentence of 15 Years in Prison for Defendant’s Illegal Possession of Loaded Handgun. A man has been sentenced to the statutory maximum of 15 years in federal prison for illegally possessing a loaded handgun. Dirk Hugo was arrested after he was found possessing a loaded handgun in his waistband and wearing a bulletproof vest. CASE UPDATE from @FBIAnchorage: A criminal complaint was unsealed in Alaska today charging a Canadian man with operating the KimWolf DDoS botnet. The U.S. complaint was unsealed following the defendant’s arrest in Canada by Canadian authorities. On April 10, 2026, U.S. authorities criminally charged Jacob Butler, aka “Dort,” 23, of Ottawa, with offenses related to the development & operation of the KimWolf botnet. Today the FBI released a #PSA warning the public about Kali365—an emerging Phishing-as-a-Service (PhaaS) platform. Kali365, first seen in April 2026, enables cyber threat actors to obtain Microsoft 365 access tokens and bypass multi-factor authentication (MFA) protocols without intercepting the user’s credentials. The platform allows less-skilled attackers access to AI-generated phishing lures, automated campaign templates, real-time targeted individual/entity tracking dashboards, and OAuth token capture capabilities. #ICYMI from @FBISanFrancisco: Seven Chinese executives and four of the world’s largest shipping container manufacturing companies were indicted for conspiring to restrict the output of — and fix the prices of — nearly all of the world’s standard unrefrigerated shipping containers. The multi-year conspiracy roughly doubled the prices of standard shipping containers between 2019 and 2021, increasing the container manufacturers’ profits approximately one hundredfold during the COVID-19 pandemic and global supply chain crisis.
