@AgainstAtheismX As a Christian, I would say the best argument against any form of theism is the problem of evil. A lack of genuine faith and being bogged down by philosophical issues like the problem of evil causes people to leave the faith.

@Seorihaneul @vrillain0 Yeah spiderman is not street level at this point. He has too many insane feats that put him well above street level.
English

@vrillain0 It’s either him or Spider-Man, but Spider-Man operates a bit above street level. Daredevil’s stories feel more grounded, so I’d go with him

@The_Idol_Killer @ThoughtfulSaint @AominOrg Can’t wait for this! I’m not Mormon, but I thought Jacob did an excellent job overall, representing all Christian’s that reject Calvinism.

thanos is basically nothing without the infinity stones, they do not belong to him or horned with it.
hand to hand with conquest, thanos is definitely getting smoked.

Does Conquest and Thanos have anything in common?

Might have to address this on the show this morning.

@ArtsyMarx1st If we applied your epistemic standard consistently, we would have to dismiss many well-established historical figures as not having existed.

posts like this are funny cuz sure, but jesus wasnt a real guy. theres no evidence beyond anecdotal that he was real, and most details of his life are borrowed from other religions. so its like a bunch of ppl arguing over what hercules looked like.

Just a reminder for Christian's celebrating Easter this week. Jesus looked like the guy in the first picture - not the second.

Gotta do something I never thought I'd do... I gotta talk a little bit about Jesus...
I think the most remarkable thing about Christ's love is that it is obvious and available to everyone, regardless of how they think about Jesus...
I believe this is why he's so respected by many great thinkers, historians, and spiritual leaders of other religions. For even if you don't believe he was God, when you look at his story honestly you see someone who was willing to SUFFER so that others could be free...
Christ believed he could take on the suffering of every person, but he knew this would come at GREAT PERSONAL COST. That is the essence of love!
Christ thought of YOU! In a very real sense he was thinking of the future of humanity...
Consider that he was brought into a Holy city, welcomed as a Messiah to a Chosen People. They wanted a War Lord, who would take vengeance on their enemies.
With this position and knowledge that this would be remembered, Yeshwa told these people to LOVE their enemy instead... He told them to turn the other cheek... He told them laws were made for man, and man was NOT made for laws...
And we must remember that the Crucifixion had a SYMBOLIC meaning...
Maybe the next time you watch Passion of the Christ you'll notice how badly the Jewish leaders wanted Jesus Crucified, even after he was beaten bloody. It kind of doesn't make sense given his crimes. The reason stems from old beliefs about the afterlife...
You see, many different cultures have had myths or stories to understand passing on from the physical world. Sometimes a culture would put coins on the deceased eyes to pay a toll into the afterlife. Sometimes, artifacts or treasures were put in tombs to have a use as a person passed on. Sometimes a culture believed you had to die in battle to go to a certain spiritual realm...
Around this time, defilement of the body was often associated with consequences in the afterlife. Maybe you remember the movie Troy where Achilles says he will cut out Hectors eyes so he wonders the afterlife blind? This was a belief that still remained at the time of Jesus.
The Crucifixion was an especially cruel means of execution, and it was designed to be so. In fact, it was deemed so painful and DISTURBING to the process of passing on that NO ROMAN CITIZEN COULD BE CRUCIFIED.
It was considered one of the lowest and most humiliating ways to die, and BECAUSE Christ died this way he was MOCKED. This was the intent of the Jewish leaders; to make a mockery of Jesus so that no one would ever follow his teachings...
Even centuries later, you find MOCKING of Jesus all over the world. In a sense, it seems ABSURD that all powerful God, even in mortal form, would allow themselves to die in such a lowly, dishonorable way...
But you see, that's the point...
Christ knew ALL OF THIS, and in fact it became the tension that spread the mystery of his teachings...
Because of course Christianity didn't just turn on like a light switch after this. Instead the mystery of WHY a living God allowed himself to be killed in such a way was the splinter in the mind that made many seek deeper...
Over centuries, despite all the efforts of the Great Deceiver, the message of the mocked Corpse God spread into the hearts of MILLIONS. What was sold as dishonorable was revealed to be pure love in a way that is so profound I still have trouble comprehending it...
And of course the hatred towards him, and the level of his suffering begs the question of what exactly his crimes were. And in that, you see the mystery... In that you see God's wisdom... In that you see Christ's LOVE...
So, even if you think Jesus was just some crazy mystical thinker who thought he could save humanity with some kind of magic, you still gotta admit it's pretty fucking cool that that crazy dude LOVED YOU so much!!
Just felt like I had to get that out 🙏

@kaizen000000000 @BerendsWendel That’s why I adhere to dynamic omniscience (a form of open theism). Gets rid of that issue.

@BerendsWendel Foreknowledge doesn’t negate free will—though it’s a subtle point, worth thinking about.

THE SMARTEST SPIDER-MAN ISN’T WHO MOST FANS THINK 🚨
> Everyone argues about which Spider-Man is the strongest, but the real question is: who is actually the smartest?
> Tobey’s Spider-Man relies on organic webs, which means he never had to invent the web technology himself.
> Andrew’s Spider-Man created his own web shooters and web fluid from scratch, showing strong scientific ability.
> Tom Holland’s Spider-Man goes even further with his intelligence.
> He repairs Dr. Octopus’s inhibitor chip, which stops the mechanical arms from controlling him.
> He also develops cures for multiple villains in a single night.
> But here’s the real question: If Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man had access to Stark technology, would he outsmart Tom?

@houseofdyln @TheCinesthetic Agreed. I’m a raimi fan bur the hate on BND is ridiculous. It looks amazing so far.
