@ADoseofBuckley The most recent Star Wars celebration had the largest attendance in history. Whatever online bubble people are in has little to no bearing in the real world. And you can use “oh another Star Wars thing” argument for literally anything made post 77 that’s a bad faith argument

@StarWarsOnly2 The thing is, by "filling the film gap", it doesn't create any sort of hunger. If they announced Episode 10 tomorrow? Or a prequel to the prequels, or a Darth Vader post RotS movie? It just gets lumped in as "oh, ANOTHER Star Wars thing".

@ADoseofBuckley Star Wars is a movie franchise, yes the shows have been a lot but they’ve obviously been made to fill the film gap. They’ve also just started slowing down on the shows.

@StarWarsOnly2 They've been pumping out Star Wars content pretty consistently. Andor, The Mandalorian, the Book of Boba Fett, that one where the girl's lightsaber changes colors, Ahsoka, The Bad Batch, the Darth Maul cartoon they just put out, The Obi Wan show... it's pretty endless.

Solo also released 6 months after The Last Jedi caused a rift in the fandom, had a boycott, and was not promoted until a few months before its release.

You're going to see a lot of rage bait about The Mandalorian & Grogu predicted box office today, and see people compare it to Solo: A Star Wars Story. What they will forget to tell you is that Solo: A Star Wars Story had a budget of over $300M, while The Mandalorian & Grogu has a budget of about $165M.
