But telling him directly he’s a bad player and then following up a 5 min video about how bad he is as someone trying to do this for a living is a bad look

The general concensus is that Demar is a good but flawed player, with notable & unique limitations-- but a model of durability/longevity/dedication Carson tried to discredit arguably his best skill (scoring longevity). It's illogical AND lame.

I hate how people are calling this "Spreadsheet FC" The problem here isn't the use of stats-- this is simply a bad argument. On/off isnt relevant to cumulative scoring or longevity. Using on/off to discredit Demar's elite durability isn't being a "nerd," it's being a hater.

@ponticelli_jack @MIKEYSAINRISTIL I don’t feel like every tweet needs to be a perfectly nuanced perspective tho. I don’t think you need to preface a negative comment with a nice one and same the other way around. I can say I don’t think someone is great without immediate acknowledging his grind.

It was unnecessary. You can think he’s a poor impact player while also acknowledging how he worked his way into the Top 10

@Stormwarning33 @BostonKrabby It's not odd. If you asked me to guess where he was ranked on points/games played/etc, I would've guessed there. I was actually kinda surprised he wasnt higher on games played. It is not odd to see a player with elite longevity rank highly in a longevity stat.

But I also think it’s fair for him to have an opinion on his impact. I think Demar should be celebrated, but you can also talk about the negatives as well

There are very valid criticisms to make about his impact, but again (for the 10th time) none of that discredits his elite durability/longevity.

@ponticelli_jack @MIKEYSAINRISTIL I think it’s the reason he said it’s “deeply disturbing” was clearly because of the level of player he is compared to the others on the list (hence why he brought up on/off, even if it’s a flawed measure of impact) I don’t understand how else it could really be interpreted.

@Betsycashmoney No.. it wasn’t. He wasn’t disputing that because he wasn’t disputing anything. He made a statement about his opinion. The fact that “nobody thinks he’s better than shaq” is his point. He doesn’t think he sucks and never said he did, he doesn’t think he’s as impactful as others.
