It is going to be HILARIOUS if over the top Wemby PR is the thing that fixes the cap rules so that the Thunder can all stay together long-term.

The NBPA is preparing to fight back hard against the second apron, especially now with the news of Wembanyama passing up on the supermax to help the Spurs try to keep its roster together long-term. “(The CBA) should not put a player in a position where he has to carry the burden in order to keep a team together. @statcenter @AaronTerrill It's not really true that Dub took the escalator clause. It tiered up and he only got 30% if he won MVP or was first team All-NBA. As Andrew said, Chet took no escalators at all. Wemby did the same thing that others have done. Stop acting like he's a saint.

I'm saying that: 1. Many other people also assumed Andrew was creating a false equivalency here, when in fact Dub took the escalator clause and Wemby didn't. 2. I like Andrew a lot. But I think he, along with some other Thunder media, tend to defend the team / players a little too aggressively. I get that it's a balance between criticism and support; I think they lean more in one direction than media around any other NBA team.

It will never happen cuz it’s OKC but id kill for in depth piece on the Thunder’s draft process this year. Both the guys they drafted plus almost every other prospect they were linked to just do not fit the typical Thunder draft mold, super interesting change in approach
