Our elections are ALREADY safe and secure. Republicans know that. But they also know that Americans are unhappy with their chaotic agenda. So instead of helping their constituents, they'd rather perpetuate lies about fraud to justify making it HARDER to vote them out of power.

According to a recent poll, 77% of voters support raising taxes on billionaires. Maybe, just maybe, at a time of unprecedented income and wealth inequality, it’s time for Congress to listen to the American people and pass a wealth tax on billionaires.

@1zzyzyx1 When a child is born, the government puts 10k into an account that yields 7.2% (paid by the parents over a set amount of time, say 10 years) , accessible at 65 it would be several million more than what the current system provides.

Because this makes sense, it will probably never happen, but just once, if they lifted the cap, it would make the system work as it was designed. Can you imagine how much life could change for people who rely solely on Social Security to get by? #DemsUnited

Amazon, which saved $4B in taxes under Trump's Big Ugly Bill, has cut 30,000 jobs since last October. Verizon, which saved $2B, plans to cut 15,000 jobs this year. Meta, which saved $3B, plans to lay off 20% or more of its workforce. Trickle-down economics is a cruel joke.

America has ten times the billionaires today than we had in 1990. In rural Maine we have fewer schools, fewer hospitals, fewer young people who can ever hope to buy a home. Money has been sucked upward, out of our towns and into the pockets of the billionaire class.

This is what a broken healthcare system & rigged tax code looks like: Last year, CVS paid $0 in federal income taxes, raised premiums by nearly 20%, cut over 1,800 jobs, gave its CEO $21 million & made $6.57 billion in profit. Yes. We must tax the rich & enact Medicare for All.

Netherlands just announced a new 120% wealth tax It will apply to the ultra-rich who earn above €150k per year So if you make €200k, you pay €60k on the €50k above the threshold Dutch officials explained it is to "discourage wealth hoarding behaviour" So beautifuly said Finally someone in Europe has the moral spine to put an end this selfish accumulation of wealth No human being should make over €150k a year It is a vulgar and borderline pornographic amount I hope more EU countries will adopt this progressive legislation This is why Europe is, and always will be, light years ahead of America

They are trying to do is remove due process… and when it’s removed for some, it’s removed for everyone. x.com/thejfreakinc/s…
Jesus Freakin Congress@TheJFreakinC

🚨BREAKING: The man shot by ICE agents in California went MISSING, after an eye witness came forward directly contradicting DHS’s version of events… And when he finally resurfaced, a judge ordered his RELEASE... only for the government immediately appealed that decision. Carlos Ivan Mendoza Hernandez, who was NOT a gang member, or murderer, as DHS claimed, was shot SIX TIMES by ICE, underwent multiple surgeries, the very next day was discharged from the hospital, and immediately taken into federal custody. And then, his own attorney could not locate him, and wasn’t given any information on his condition. Tuesday, his criminal complaint was unsealed, he went to court, and a judge ordered his release. The government then stepped in to appeal that order, and keep him detained… claiming he’s “a danger to the community if released.” Because he drove his car “close to the bodies of the ICE agents” after attempting to flee. Federal agents claim this was a “targeted stop” and that they opened fire in self-defense after he “weaponized” his car. But, a civilian witness, with dashcam footage, says something very different… and her account matches Hernandez’s. She says agents were already surrounding his car, striking his window… when a single shot rang out. The car THEN began to back up, trying to leave, and multiple shots followed in rapid succession. He did not try to hit agents with his car… he only reversed AFTER a gun was fired at him. And in the video, you can see the agent does, in fact, have his gun pulled, aiming at Hernandez, before he reverses. Hernandez told his attorney the same thing from his hospital bed… that he pulled over, handed over his license, asked to call his wife… an agents fired their weapon, and THEN he drove away in fear. Two separate accounts. Same sequence. ICE shoots first… then claims self-defense. The witness also says agents were pointing guns into active traffic, at random cars, putting everyone on that road at risk… Again, showing that ICE agents are the real danger to communities. But, what makes this more alarming is the custody timeline… Hernandez was shot, hospitalized, transferred into federal custody, disappeared from contact with his attorney, then reappeared in court where a judge ordered his release, only for the government to immediately appeal and continue fighting his detention. That raises serious questions about due process, and transparency in federal custody, after a use-of-force incident. Because at every stage, the “facts” being asserted by DHS are being directly challenged by eyewitness accounts, physical footage, and now, even the procedural outcome in court.

🚨BREAKING: The Trump administration is finally admitting the price tag of ICE and deportations… but not the cause. “It costs $18,225 per deportation.” Multiply that by millions… yeah, it is staggering. But, here’s what they aren’t saying… It’s expensive because they made it that way. They underfund the courts, fired a hundred+ of immigration judges… then complain the courts are “clogged.” They restrict legal pathways… then blame asylum seekers for using the only ones left. They drag cases out for years… then act shocked when attorneys are involved. And they’re locking people in detention facilities when they don’t need to be… adding thousands in costs per person… Because those facilities are run by private contractors… getting paid per bed, per day. So, the longer people are detained… the more money gets made, and the more it costs per deportation. But now, suddenly it’s the system’s fault? No… it’s the design. Break the system… bottleneck it… monetize the suffering… Then point to the price tag and say, “Look how broken this is.” They created the cost. Now they’re using it as an excuse to remove due process.

We have 535 Members of Congress but just one President. That's why we need a bipartisan independent commission under the 25th Amendment to make sure this president—and all future presidents—are fit to discharge the duties of their office. Congress should pass H.R. 8275 to fill this constitutional void.

It's Tax Day in America. Reminder: The average taxpayer pays 13% of their income in taxes. The wealthiest 400 families in the U.S. pay just 8% of their income in taxes. It’s time to make the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share. It’s time to pass a wealth tax.
