Withdrawing all your funds to a personal hardware wallet for cold storage will negate any risk of someone trying to drain your funds held by a centralized custodian.
I would recommend something like a Trezor wallet or a Ledger wallet.

🚨🚨🚨Crypto Scam & Public Safety Announcement🚨🚨🚨
10 min ago the SWAT team left my house & I’m still shaking. This was absolutely terrifying & it was all a crypto scam.
I’ll do a better post w/more info after I’ve taken care of securing everything & calmed down enough to explain it in better sequential detail w/screenshots.
Here’s a brief summery of what happened…
It started with a call from Yahoo saying there was an attempt to change my account ph # to one in Belgium & it raised red flags. I clarified that was fraud and to block it. They didn’t request any personal info. Weird.
5 min later I got a call from Coinbase saying someone w/an IP address from Belgium was trying to get into my account. This is where I became suspicious & requested tons of info from them to verify identity, which arrived in my inbox from a coinbase.com account. The phone number was exactly the same as Coinbase’s official customer support number, except the last number was different.
In short, scammers got into my email & Coinbase accounts via a super elaborate & articulate strategy. They had my full name, phone number, email address, password, home address, account transaction history, previous report info, EVERYTHING.
They succeeded in draining some funds, thankfully, nothing life changing bc I had moved almost everything to my hardware wallet long ago.
They tried to convince me that my hardware wallet was connected to my Coinbase account & that they needed my seed phrase to complete the freeze and prevent further transactions. If I hung up, Coinbase would not be liable for any losses.
I refused to give them my hardware wallet seed phrase.
At this point, I called the official Coinbase customer support # from another phone and asked the scammers to please wait on mute while I verified what was going on.
I didn’t know this yet, but meanwhile, they realized I was onto them & called the SWAT team posing as my husband (I don’t have one) & said they had murdered my whole family inside my house with an AK-47 and were going to kill themselves if SWAT didn’t come right away.
I got a call from my brother that the police had called him to say there was an active shooter outside so I ran around frantically trying to get my kids and mom to safety. I saw the SWAT team outside my home and slowly opened the door to find out what was going on.
I explained that I was literally just on the phone with a scammer and told them the details of what happened. The scammer did what’s called “SWATTED” me. It was all an elaborate scam and when they realized I wasn’t falling for it, they called law enforcement from a fake # to distract/punish me.
Now, I must change all passwords and secure everything, and I don’t even know where to start…
I’m still shaking. This is out of control.
Just wanted to warn our community not to fall for any entity calling about fraud on any of your accounts, crypto or otherwise. If this ever happens, hang up & call the official customer service # directly yourself. And be careful that the more articulately they speak, the more private information they share, the more likely it is to be a sophisticated scam.
