I couldn’t be prouder of these young leaders. Every one of them are a credit to their school and they epitomise our Positive Journey of Change - from Isolation to Inclusion. They have certainly achieved the inclusion element of our programme. Well done all! 👏 👏 👏

I think you could dial down the rhetoric a dash. We are talking about children here not playing warmonger for the crowds. Or do you really believe they sometimes need neutralising. I’ll disengage at this point and let you play to your audience but seriously!

@TCESGroupCEO Children often pose a threat to one another, sometimes seriously. If that surprises you, then you need to step into some challenging classrooms…

@tombennett71 This sounds like Mission Impossible and the SAS all rolled into one. You neutralise the threat! Wow! Next we’ll have quotes on the Art of War by Sun Tzu. These are children not the enemy and if it reaches that point I think the reflection should be ‘What did I miss?’.

The first step in responding to violent, threatening or disruptive behaviour is to neutralise the threat it presents to other children, staff, or the learning environment. Trying to understand its mysterious precedents and causes, if it disrupts this response, causes further harm.

@Strickomaster Everything you described is communication. Understanding WHY a student is acting a certain way is the first step in addressing it. We cannot effectively address student behavior if we don't first understand it.

@TCESgroup Not even one sleep left! 😂😂. Very excited to be shortlisted for the Education Oscars at Tes. Our National Online School will build affordable therapeutic programmes for pupils at risk of exclusion. We can build on the 25 year non-exclusion of TCES with mainstream schools & LAs.

Come & see a DfE accredited online school, built on a quarter century track record of excellence in therapeutic education, clinical, and family support in TCES Group. In that 25 year track record we have never excluded a single one of the thousands of pupils we have taught.

It is important to say that excluding disabled children is immoral and will be eventually illegal and the sooner the better. “A school is an inclusive place for all pupils not an exclusive place for some pupils”
Anne Longfield@annelongfield

An imp report today ⁦@ChanceUK⁩. The future of every child matters. No education system should be writing off the life chances of any child with special educational needs, development problems, or vulnerable home lives before they've even got going. itv.com/watch/news/cha…

1/2: I love the mantra of ‘when they push you away hold them closer’. However, isn’t it time we ended exclusions. We are building a school to prison pipeline for children with significant ACES, trauma & secondary trauma & undiagnosed SEND. I think it is time that schools became…

Terrific article in @SecEd_Education by Ellie Costello of @teamsquarepeg with advice on helping pull students back from the brink of exclusion, even when they say they do not want to be helped - and namechecking @Lads_Like_Us among others too. #EBSA sec-ed.co.uk/content/blogs/…
