@MKIttlesonMD I bring up the “hard” BP thing all the time! Btw what did u have to do to get a HF for hospitalized patients into @AnnalsofIM In the Clinic??? 😂 I guess your lifetime of high-level contributions probably helped. Keep up the good work!

#TipsForNewDocs Phrases to avoid on rounds: Gentle diuresis (be specific!) Soft blood pressure (can it be hard?) Making good urine (what's bad urine?) Specific assessments and goals/targets = better care. #kittlesonrules

@chadinabhan @AaronGoodman33 @RichardBaron17 I m not taking sides. But the problem with social media and the new society that it brings to the light a very random doctor who got some followers on Twitter to represent all doctors. FIRST OF ALL please talk like a doctor, wear like a doctor, elevate ur manners.

@melina_manolas The same feeling happens with kids. “The days are long but the years are short” they say.

Finishing residency is the weirdest feeling. It’s like am I extremely happy or sad or nostalgic or all of the above? Why does it feel like it went by so slow and so fast at the same time?

@emily_fri Agreed but maybe we should actually change the definition of COPD...like *shudder* pre-diabetes. Patients with bullous disease on CT with "normal" PFTs have worse outcomes than those without. pubs.rsna.org/doi/full/10.11…

Do NOT write COPD in that chart unless you’ve seen the PFTs with your own eyeballs.

Your patient has severe emphysema. They have never smoked and have no relevant exposures (biofuel, second hand smoke, silica) You suspect alpha-1-antitrypsin deficiency but all testing is negative. What could your patient have, #medtwitter? <3 @DxRxEdu

I'm a fan of @UpToDate but not when people cite it as a reference on a paper or poster. And I just read an article mentioning "research published by StatPearls" 😂. Please stop.

Look natural and tell the team your patient with MSSA has a "miss-uh" infection. Instead of a soft BP, say the SBP is hard at 230. If you're lucky enough to see a pt with improved EF or one 40-50%, say they have "huff-im-pef" or "huff-muh-ref." Tweet the video. #MedTwitter #MedEd

@1andOnlyChrisN Agree with resident. As an attending, that was a dumb question.

@DrJenGunter @AMadmanGames I do this a lot so I was going to ask if you were sitting at the bar but I think the pic answers that!

Ordering/doing a lumbar puncture is like apologizing to your spouse—if you think about it, you should do it. When you don’t think about it, you end up sleeping on the couch. #MedTwitter #TanPearls
