Speaking of the Ada DLC rumors, it's worth noting that RE2 Remake Ada VA Jolene, said this in a video in the beginning of 2026. Is she perhaps teasing something? Guess we'll have to find out. Did Capcom bring her back?

Graphics aside, the original 1996 Resident Evil is just genuinely more fun to play than the 2002 remake.
If you’re wondering why, it’s probably because you’ve either never played the original or haven’t in a long time.
Better puzzles, pacing, progression and design.

@lastchalice I like replaying OG more simply because I can't stand the crimson heads, it's tedious getting rid of them bc the lighter and the oil takes too much space, the other methods are decapitation (I don't want to waste my shotgun) and fire rounds too bad that I am a Chris player

@UnderTheMayo @lastchalice I personally hate block/statue pushing puzzles, and the remake doubles down on them. The one in the mines especially.

@lastchalice Which puzzles are better? The aging man puzzle is probably better. But the clock puzzle is there. The statue puzzles are better. The item examination stuff. At the very least they're tied.

@lastchalice I agree. Remake has a lot more pointless backtracking. And Lisa Trevor sections, while great for the lore and atmosphere, is a gameplay slog. Fine for your first playthrough, annoying on subsequent ones. OG's pacing is better. Both are great games tho.

@UnderTheMayo CV is too important to the lore to be considered a side game. It was Capcom's fuckery with Dreamcast exclusivity that caused so much confusion. Revelations 1-2? Those are side games.

Code Veronica fans get so upset when you call it a spinoff or side game. As if that changes the quality of the game or the importance of its place in the lore. You say it's a mainline entry, I say it's not. So?

@JJunkWarrior RE4R's mercenaries did not fix anything, enemies are just set to Amateur difficulty, which has consistent stuns.

There are people who genuinely believe an actual boss fight that takes advantage of the knife rework is inferior to a QTE cutscene btw

@redlipsgunmetal Jolene Anderson gave Ada a similar performance the remake of 2: colder, more grounded. And did a great job. If you think that Gao gave a better performance, you need to get your ears checked.
