Earlier initiation and lifelong treatment, especially in young women with FH, are important to lower the lifelong cholesterol burden. Future research on the impact of female-specific life stages such as pregnancy, breastfeeding, menstrual cycle, and menopause is needed. Future guidelines should include sex-specific aspects"
