@jc_playmakerWNY Had this conversation with a college coach yesterday. Most colleges recruit regionally -regardless of division. Not sure we need to be flying across the country to get seen by the college coaches in our “backyard”. And coaches are more confident in recruits they see over and over

Saw something where like 18 of UCLA womens soccer team is from California. 10 players on IU mens soccer team were from Indiana. Only 7 players on Syracuse are from the state of New York.

(1/13) Some recruiting thoughts. Might not pertain to all of you, but probably to most of you. Sometimes recruits (and parents) are laser-focused for so long on getting a soccer scholarship that they forget the bigger picture

@Discover_CS I’ll add: if you make a video on HUDL, screen record and post on Youtube and edit it to eliminate the 15 second commercial at the beginning. Sometimes busy coaches don’t have time for he commercial and your video will get skipped.

I have interviewed over 100 college soccer coaches in 2022. I asked them to give me their top dos and don’ts for highlight videos. Some coaches have personal preferences, but many of the answers were universal. Here are the top 5 consensus dos and don’ts for making your video.

Be great without being high maintenance. Show up on time, wear the right stuff, be coachable, support your teammates & give 100% every time you practice/play. High maintenance is hard. Coaches love low maintenance players who buy into the process. You’re what makes coaching fun!
